The Seeker Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Oh, yes... I don't want to be nasty with our beloved Old55 but probably a 90% of their songs are better than "Satisfaction"... (running/hiding graemlin here) You speak my mind, edna...it's like with Yesterday.
OLD 55 Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Satisfaction stands in a class of it's own as far as I'm concerned. There's a "Book Of Rock Lists" I have, where some famous muso (forget who it was) listed his Top 50 Stones songs of all time in order. He put a reason for choosing them beside each one, and next to Satisfaction -which was his #1 - he put just one word: "Because...". That said it all.
Shadows Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 that interesting. well everybody has different tastes. i do love satisfaction, just not as much ass other stones songs. the rolling stones are soooo amazing!
edna Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I see the Rolling Stones fans strongly disagree... For me it's just like Seeker said, "Yesterday" is also one of the top Beatles' songs... and I can't say that I like it...
OLD 55 Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Do you like Glenn Shorrock's cover of 'Dream Lover' Oldfif?? He had a big hit down here with it didn't he? Yes, very much so Katie. I didn't mention it because I didn't think anyone outside Australia would know it. I have it on a "Hot Hits 1979" or similar titled tape (remember them ?) somewhere. He's great. I love his early songs with The Twilights and Axiom.
OLD 55 Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Maybe discuss that on another thread somewhere please shadows ? This is a peaceful thread and we'd like to keep it that way. We enjoy a bit of fun or good natured ribbing, but we don't want it to go beyond that.

Shawna Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 good lord, this is gonna be a tough one for me...
OLD 55 Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Sure will Shawna ! There's a lot of different genres and eras to choose from. CeeCee says she has hers down to 16. I don't dare count mine, because there's just so many I like. Hate having to leave good songs out.
