Tenacious_Peaches Posted July 14, 2006 Author Report Posted July 14, 2006 You are killing me, Farin. You are &*^%-ing killing me. }
The Seeker Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Am I allowed to ask friends? Because if I do, I know the answer (or let's say my friend does).
Farin Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Thank You you know the purpose of these kind of riddles is to ask many questions, to get always a small step closer to the solution. It's nearly impossible to get it right from the start (and even now it's still very hard) What's the straw for? Why did he get naked? Who's the other guy? etc..
Farin Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Am I allowed to ask friends? Because if I do, I know the answer (or let's say my friend does). How would I know it one way or the other? But if it pleases you, be my guest...
The Seeker Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 (edited) ....well, am I? Because I have my doubts that anyone will get the answer...It's great. I would never have thought of it. EDIT: Well, alright, I saw your post. No, I'll wait and see if someone gets the answer, against my expectations. Edited July 14, 2006 by Guest
Farin Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 I think I let it open until tomorrow, let's see if someone else has a sudden inspiration... (even if it's unlikely) but I'm glad you like it
TheTallOne Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Tall One! He jumped out of the plane because there were snakes on it! Snakes on a plane. The root of all evil. Look what they can do.
Farin Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 It seems that the interest is waning... so If someone knows the answer (yes, Mr. Seeker, I mean you ) please put it here...
The Seeker Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Thank you very much, Farin. *clears throat* (well I do hope that I have it right ) The man was in a hot-air balloon with some other people, and the balloon threatened to crash. They took their clothes off and threw them down in order to lose weight, but because it still wasn't enough, they decided that they would draw straws. That man drew the shortest one and had to jump off. Was that right?
Farin Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Yes, it was (how'd you guess that?? ) you know what that means, right? you have the honour, to give us a new riddle!
Levis Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 I was thinking about it all night... I'd never have guessed that! (probably because it is quite creepy)
Farin Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 ^ the point wasn't to "guess" it (which is next to impossible, imho), but to "work" your way to it via the questioning...
The Seeker Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Ahh I don't know any riddles, I'm not good at those things, maybe someone else would like to post one?
Tenacious_Peaches Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 I'm resurrecting this thread. Have at it. A father was speaking to his teenage daughter. "You arrived very late, at 3 o'clock in the morning, and you kept me and your mother up waiting anxiously for you. I do not want that to ever happen again." "But, Father," the girl replied, "I will never be able to do that again." What did she mean?
Farin Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I guess it's something simple, like She has only one day left to live and wanted to celebrate it?
Tenacious_Peaches Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 It is a simple answer. However, it's not that particular simple answer. You're on the right track, though. Sort of.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 No. I want to give you hints, but I want you to work for it, too.
Farin Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 just say it: You want to hear me beg! you said I was on the right track. Do you mean the last day to live part? maybe she wanted to watch a meteorite, before it comes crashing into the earth? :wacky:
Tenacious_Peaches Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 I meant the birthday part. But they aren't talking about her 18th birthday.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 Smart and charming. I love those two qualities in a man. You're up, slick.
daslied Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 What can go up a chimney down, but cannot go down a chimney up?
Tenacious_Peaches Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 A chimney sweeper thingy? Because of the way you have to hold it? Or Santa Claus on an incontinent Christmas Eve? I have no idea.
