John
I'm looking for a song by a female vocalist or group...it is a soft rock song, similar to Karla Bonoff, Expose, Everything But The Girl, etc....some of the words are: "and the wheels go round and round"...anyone have any ideas?...thanks in advance. Earth-Angel
It may sound stupid, but my first thought was "Blame it on the weatherman" by B*Witched, even though the lyrics are "the rain goes on, on and on again". Are you 100% on the lyrics? Maybe it is something by Frou Frou, I'll have a look for you
Farin
I think it could be "Long Train Running". Originally by the Doobie Brothers, but Bananarama did a cover... Long Train Running ~ Bananarama Down around the corner Half a mile from here See them long trains run And you watch them disappear (chorus 1) Without love, where would you be now Without love You know I saw miss Lucy Down along the tracks She lost her home and her family And she won't be coming back (chorus 2) Without love, where would you be right now Without love Well the Illinois Central And the Southern Central freight Gotta keep on pushing mama You know they're running late (chorus 1) Well the pistons keep on turning And the wheels go round and round And the steel rails are cold and hard For the miles that they go down (chorus 1) Baby baby baby baby babe Oh won't you move it down I gotta keep on moving Gotta keep on moving (ad lib) publishing : Warner Chappell Music 1973 Edited June 7, 2006 by Guest You'll never find out... John
thanks for the quick replies...it's not "Long Train Runnin"...i'm familiar with that song...it's a slow song that would probably be played on a soft rock/ lite music station, although i've never heard the song on the radio...i've heard it in the supermarket and department stores a few times. Uncle Joe
Could it be the seasons that go round and round? Joni Mitchell's Circle Game? She wrote it for Neil Young. Yesterday a child came out to wonder Caught a dragonfly inside a jar Fearful when the sky was full of thunder And tearful at the falling of a star Then the child moved ten times round the seasons Skated over ten clear frozen streams Words like, when you're older, must appease him And promises of someday make his dreams And the seasons they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down We're captive on the carousel of time We can't return we can only look behind From where we came And go round and round and round In the circle game Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town And they tell him, Take your time, it won't be long now Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down And the seasons they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down We're captive on the carousel of time We can't return we can only look behind From where we came And go round and round and round In the circle game So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true There'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty Before the last revolving year is through And the seasons they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down We're captive on the carousel of time We can't return, we can only look behind From where we came And go round and round and round In the circle game It has that soft-rock sound. Farin
Maybe this? (I don't know the song, but the lyrics fit) Artist: Rosanne Cash Song: Wheel Album: The Wheel How long was I alseep? When did we plan to meet? Have you been waiting long for me? When did the sky turn black? Do you still want me back? I'll pick it all up piece by piece. And the wheel goes round and round. And the flame in our souls will never burn out. And the wheel, and the wheel goes round. I am a river with a voice. I came into your life by choice. And none can judge just how that feels. You are a messenger from God. You are the angel I forgot. And who's to say that it isn't real? And the wheel goes round and round. And the flame in our souls will never burn out. And the wheel, and the wheel goes round. I'm not looking for the answers. Oh, darling don't you see That just to know the question Is good enough for me. Take up the hearts you came to heal. Put down your dagger and your shield. You need fear nothing now from me. I see the essence of the man. I stand before you as a friend. The truth moves through us even when we sleep. And the wheel goes round and round. And the flame in our souls will never burn out. And the wheel, and the wheel goes round.
