Sweet Jane 61
I was wondering if anyone knew of a song for children that is about fish? This is what I have..."down in the meadow, in an itty bitty pool...swam 3 little fishes and a mama fish too" Any help would be great!

_Laurie_
Baby Beluga Baby beluga in the deep blue sea, Swim so wild and you swim so free. Heaven above and the sea below, And a little whale on the go. Baby beluga, oh, baby beluga, Is the water warm? Is your mama home with you so happy? Way down yonder where the dolphins play, Where you dive and splash all day. Waves roll in and the waves roll out! See the water squirtin’ out of your spout. Baby beluga, oh, baby beluga, Sing your little song, sing for all your friends. We like to hear you. Baby beluga in the deep blue sea, Swim so wild and you swim so free. Heaven above and the sea below, And a little whale on the go. When it’s dark, you’re home and fed, Curl up snug in your water bed. Moon is shining and the stars are out. Good night, little whale, good night. Baby beluga, of, baby beluga, With tomorrow’s sun, another day’s begun. You’ll soon be waking. this is such a cute song! we use to have little hand motions to it too.

RonJonSurfer
Let's pass on Fish Heads then... 3 Little Fishies Down in the meadow in a little bitty pool Swam three little fishies and a mama fishie too "Swim" said the mama fishie, "Swim if you can" And they swam and they swam all over the dam Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! And they swam and they swam all over the dam "Stop" said the mama fishie, "or you will get lost" The three little fishies didn't wanna be bossed The three little fishies went off on a spree And they swam and they swam right out to the sea Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! And they swam and they swam right out to the sea "Whee!" yelled the little fishies, "Here's a lot of fun We'll swim in the sea till the day is done" They swam and they swam, and it was a lark Till all of a sudden they saw a shark! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Till all of a sudden they saw a shark! "Help!" cried the little fishies, "Gee! look at all the whales!" And quick as they could, they turned on their tails And back to the pool in the meadow they swam And they swam and they swam back over the dam Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! Boop boop dit-tem dat-tem what-tem Chu! And they swam and they swam back over the dam.

I knew it when I was a kid and couldn't remember and my Mom, bless her heart couldn't either. Both these songs will be good for Emily!

blind-fitter
I have a fantastic version of this (on vinyl) performed by the legendary actor Jon Pertwee (former Dr Who and Worzel Gummidge)
Otokichi
Here's something for the Films & Music set: In the 1973 TV movie, "Birds of Prey," David Janssen, playing ex-Flying Tiger "Harry Walker," sang along, clapped, and flew his traffic watch chopper to "Three Little Fishies" as he pursued helicopter-borne bank robbers. (I have it on Ye Ancient Beta L-500) I've read that the current DVD release doesn't have it or the 1940's tunes heard on the WTBS broadcast. It's a matter of forking out $$$ for music rights, going with a "generic equivalent," or some Indie band. (This "can't use the original" syndrome afflicts the "Northern Exposure" DVDs as well.)
