My Melody Of Love Bobby Vinton Written by Bobby Vinton and Henry Mayer Peaked at # 3 in 1974 I'm lookin' for a place to go so I can be all alone From thoughts and memories So that when the music plays I don't go back to the days When love was you and me CHORUS Oh, oh moja droga jacie kocham Means that I love you so Moja droga jacie kocham More than you'll ever know Kocham ciebie calem serce Love you with all my heart Return and always be My melody of love Wish I had a place to hide all my sorrow, all my pride I just can't get along 'cause the love once so fine keeps on hurtin' all the time Where did I go wrong? CHORUS Oh, oh, {"la-la's" for the first line of chorus} My melody of love {"la-la's" for the first line of chorus} My melody of love {"la-la's" for the first line of chorus} FADE My melody of love

RonJonSurfer
My paternal Grandmother was very religious and in her 90s. Her favorite song was "Sweet Hour of Prayer". I used to play it on the piano every Sunday when she came to our house. She lived to be 97. My maternal grandma loved Lawrence Welk. We used to dance while we watched the show. I LOVED that. One of the happiest times I can remember. Oh, Lawrence Welk was big...I think that was the one show my Gram couldn't miss. They show reruns on public TV now and I can see the appeal it had for the much older generation...thank God Hee Haw came around and brought some whoop it up country into the house. (Gram liked that too).

The Seeker
My grandparents actually like the same music as me, because the 60s are when they were in their twenties. My grandmother loves the Everly Brothers, my granpa's more for Joe Cocker and Rod Stewart and their stuff from the 70s and 80s.
Tenacious_Peaches
My grandmother loved George Benson and every time I hear this song I think of her... Give Me The Night George Benson Whenever dark has fallen you know the spirit of the party starts to come alive Until the day is dawning you can throw out all your blues and hit the city lights 'Cause there's music in the air and lots of loving everywhere so gimme the night Gimme the night You need the evening action, a place to dine, a glass of wine, a little late romance It's a chain reaction You'll see the people of the world coming out to dance 'Cause there's music in the air and lots of loving everywhere so gimme the night Gimme the night So come on out tonight and we'll lead the others on a ride through paradise And if you feel all right then we can be lovers 'cause I see that starlight look in your eyes Don't you know we can fly? Just gimme the night Gimme the night And if we stay together, we'll feel the rhythm of the evening taking us up high Never mind the weather We'll be dancing in the street until the morning light 'Cause there's music in the air and lots of loving everywhere So gimme the night Gimme the night... katie_sane
My maternal grandfather (he's 81) likes Mario Lanza and Johnny Cash. His favourite song is 'Man In Black'. My grandmother (she's 78) likes 'Unchained Melody' by the Righteous Brothers and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' by Simon & Garfunkel. My paternal grandfather loved country music, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Slim Dusty. My grandmother didn't really listen to music much, but her favourite song was 'The Yellow Rose Of Texas'. They've both passed away. Anyway, here is A Boy Named Sue for Pop and Pa. A Boy Named Sue Johnny Cash My daddy left home when I was three And he didn't leave much to ma and me Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze. Now, I don't blame him cause he run and hid But the meanest thing that he ever did Was before he left, he went and named me "Sue." Well, he must o' thought that is quite a joke And it got a lot of laughs from a' lots of folk, It seems I had to fight my whole life through. Some gal would giggle and I'd get red And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head, I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named "Sue." Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean, My fist got hard and my wits got keen, I'd roam from town to town to hide my shame. But I made a vow to the moon and stars That I'd search the honky-tonks and bars And kill that man who gave me that awful name. Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July And I just hit town and my throat was dry, I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew. At an old saloon on a street of mud, There at a table, dealing stud, Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me "Sue." Well, I knew that snake was my own sweet dad From a worn-out picture that my mother'd had, And I knew that scar on his cheek and his evil eye. He was big and bent and gray and old, And I looked at him and my blood ran cold And I said: "My name is 'Sue!' How do you do! Now your gonna die!!" Well, I hit him hard right between the eyes And he went down, but to my surprise, He come up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear. But I busted a chair right across his teeth And we crashed through the wall and into the street Kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer. I tell ya, I've fought tougher men But I really can't remember when, He kicked like a mule and he bit like a crocodile. I heard him laugh and then I heard him cuss, He went for his gun and I pulled mine first, He stood there lookin' at me and I saw him smile. And he said: "Son, this world is rough And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough And I knew I wouldn't be there to help ya along. So I give ya that name and I said goodbye I knew you'd have to get tough or die And it's the name that helped to make you strong." He said: "Now you just fought one hell of a fight And I know you hate me, and you got the right To kill me now, and I wouldn't blame you if you do. But ya ought to thank me, before I die, For the gravel in ya guts and the spit in ya eye Cause I'm the son-of-a-bitch that named you "Sue.'" I got all choked up and I threw down my gun And I called him my pa, and he called me his son, And I came away with a different point of view. And I think about him, now and then, Every time I try and every time I win, And if I ever have a son, I think I'm gonna name him Bill or George! Anything but Sue! I still hate that name!
