Uncle Joe
I knew the answers to B (a movie) and C (Tina Turner) but getting into this thread has become near impossible. It's taking the fun out of the game. Sometimes I can't get in at all. Darryl, may I suggest continuing the game in a newly started thread? With the number of views and posts that this one gets it's far too slow to load. It's so popular. You can keep this thread as a reference for past games, questions, points, etc. But change to a new thread maybe once every month or so to alleviate the navigation headaches. The game is fun and I'd love to participate even more as I'm sure others would as well. The site now has me hollering Uncle. Thanks and good luck. Elvish
Good idea, Uncle! It's really become a pain lately. Maybe when the server is fixed things will be better. I have a wild guess for Question A: Sting "Russians" Bruce Springsteen "Roulette" Prince "Ronnie Talk to Russia" Songs about nukes! :: The question is rather vague, I'm sure we could make many connections. miamisammy29
Question C - George Michael Question B - They were both featured in the Beaver Hunt section of "Hustler" magazine (Feb. 87 issue). Incidentally, they both lost. Question A - They were all invisible rock bands

OLD 55
I might make some of my Questions Tough, but NEVER that ridiculous. SORRY! I was getting dropped out, and "cutting and pasting" words from my previous Posts, and I FORGOT to put the three Singers! HERE IS THE REAL QUESTION A: THESE 3 GREAT ARTISTS EACH HAD AT LEAST ONE SONG WITH THIS PARTICULAR THING IN COMMON IN THE 1980s? WHAT WAS IT? Billy Joel Elton John Phil Collins ........................................................... ELVISH IS CORRECT WITH QUESTIONS B AND C. WELL DONE ELVISH ! B. It was a movie - "Straight to Hell". Yes, a 1987 "Spaghetti Western" that got a Turkey rating in my Movie Guide. It also starred Joe Strummer (The Clash), The Pogues and Elvis Costello and Actors Dennis Hopper and Sy Richardson. C. Tina Turner - her only #1 was "What's Love Got to Do With It" Good reasoning! In 1984 her Songwriter/Producer/Manager gave her some new songs he'd written, but she didn't think they were her style. They worked on "What's Love Got To Do With It" in the studio, and look what happened!

Elvish
Thanks Old 55! Can't believe I finally won. Kevin, you were a worthy opponent but the server proved to be the ultimate competitor this month. We should give the fish some stamps!
Uncle Joe
Elvish, a well-deserved win. Take a bow. Oops, careful not to tip over. Awwww, that was mean of me. LOL..Nah, I'm sure you look great in your "condition". Just be on guard in the supermarket. Security may think you're shoplifting a watermelon. Ok, ok I'll stop. Just joshin' ya a little. How soon? It's the one true miracle I believe in...childbirth. Changes everything....for the better. Take it from a grandpa. Hope you're well and not too anxious. OLD 55
BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Elvish, and isn't Kevin very gracious? It's a shame that such a close tussle was spoilt by the Site meltdown. JUST TO TIDY UP QUESTION A - "THESE 3 GREAT ARTISTS EACH HAD AT LEAST ONE SONG WITH THIS PARTICULAR THING IN COMMON IN THE 1980s? WHAT WAS IT? " Billy Joel Elton John Phil Collins .......................................................... Laurie said: " all three artist have walt disney in common?....songs for disney movies? or....awarded grammy's or nominations for best vocal?" ........................................................... Good Answers! They did all have movie songs - especially Phil Collins - but I think Elton John was the only one to do Disney, in the 90s. I've just looked up my book with all the Grammys listed, and Phil Collins did best in 1985, with "Best Pop Vocal Male" and "Album Of The Year" No Jacket Required. I don't know about nominations. ........................................................... I wrote that question very quickly the other night - left the 3 names off . What I was looking for was that they all had songs with "Alternate Titles" in brackets after each name. Probably a good example of this would be "December 63 (Oh What A Night)"/ Four Seasons. Here's the three: "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now"/ Phil Collins "You're Only Human (Second Wind)"/ Billy Joel "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)"/ Elton John Probably NOT the Best question I've ever done, but I was a bit pushed that night. ........................................................... Val's 94 year old Mum has been sick for the last week, and we had to take her to Hospital yesterday. They did all sorts of tests, but couldn't find anything ominous, so she's back home again. ...........................................................
