Rayzor Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Listening to a few tunes from Tijuana Sweetheart's new album "Under The Gun" on their homepage. http://www.tijuanasweetheart.com/music.html The title track in particular sounds wicked Can't wait for this album to make its way to Canada, as it's an independent release, it'll be awhile. For those who like punk-metal power chords and 4 chix singing gender neutral tunes to a backbeat that frightens Satan, this band (and from what I've heard, this album) is for you. 8/10 for half the album I've heard.
Rayzor Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Yup! And if yer brothers lay a finger on 'em they'll bust their skulls... I wonder why they chose the punk-metal genre over teeny-pop?
Farin Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 New Sigur Rós track Ekki múkk, new album Valtari will be released May 28th
TheLizard Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Possibly the most emotional band of all time even though I can't understand a word they're saying. I can't wait!
Farin Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Damon Albarn wrote a new opera called Dr Dee, listen to The Marvelous Dream
TheLizard Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 Wrecking Ball, Bruce's new album, is awesome. Could've used some Clarence though.
RockyRaccoon Posted April 3, 2012 Author Report Posted April 3, 2012 If you haven't listened to The Mars Volta's new album "Noctourniquet" go do it. Now. Right now. I'll wait.
TheLizard Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 I just got it. Haven't listened to it yet. Guess I should!
RockyRaccoon Posted April 4, 2012 Author Report Posted April 4, 2012 Absolutely. It's probably their most "accessible" album. At least, as accessible as The Mars Volta can be.
TheLizard Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 More accessible than Octahedron, even? Because that one was weirdly normal for them.
RockyRaccoon Posted April 4, 2012 Author Report Posted April 4, 2012 I would say closer to a happy marriage between the accessibility of Octahedron and the typical Mars Volta sound.
blind-fitter Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 The new Killing Joke album "MMX11" is out (in the UK), and it's really splendid stuff. "Rapture" "Trance" "In Cythera"
TheLizard Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 New Rush single awwwwwwww yeeeeeeaaaaaaah: http://www1.rollingstone.com/hearitnow/player/rush.html Also, the new Punch Brothers album is fantastic, as expected. Easily the most all-around talented band playing right now. And they cover Radiohead! They're bluegrass, for those who don't know. So yeah, that's pretty weird and awesome.
RockyRaccoon Posted April 18, 2012 Author Report Posted April 18, 2012 The Men's new album- awesome New Lamb Of God album- awesomer New M. Ward album- awesomest Get all of these albums now.
RockyRaccoon Posted April 19, 2012 Author Report Posted April 19, 2012 Jack White's new album "Blunderbuss" is a must-listen. It is absolutely excellent.
Farin Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 there's a new The Dandy Warhols album out now (and it's quite good) AND there's a Brian Jonestown Massacre album coming out in a week or so! coincidence? PS The Jack White album IS cool and since this could be expected I fully agree with both posts above mine
Zabadak Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Having seen and thoroughly enjoyed both the Stripes and the Dandies live, I look forward to their new works!
Farin Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 new Norah Jones album "Little Broken Hearts", produced by none other than Danger Mouse! quite nice

RockyRaccoon Posted June 3, 2012 Author Report Posted June 3, 2012 New John Mayer album is quite good. Very much like John Mayer meets Neil Young. I liked it. Newest Andrew Bird album is very good as well, exactly what you'd expect from him.
blind-fitter Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 I'm really looking forward to the forthcoming release of my own band's album. That's right, my band FLIES ON YOU, debut album "Nothing To Write Home About", being released in the next couple of weeks. I'll be back with more release details, links to our website, promo vids, etc., as and when. Keep your eyes peeled.
