Uncle Joe Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 I have a room just off the den that I call my Music Room. It's where I store all my old LP's, my CD Racks, Music Books, Memorobilia, Stereo Equip., etc. I'v always wanted to decorate the walls of the room in framed Classic Rock Album Covers. It looks like I may finally be able to do so. I need some suggestions...with pics if possible. I already have about 40 covers that I want to use. I'll name a few to give you an idea: Layla, Derek And The Dominos Aja, SteelyDan Breakfast In America, Supertramp Down To The Ground, Joy Of Cooking Sild Degrees, Boz Scaggs After Bathing At Baxters, Jefferson Airplane Tea For The Tillerman, Cat Stevens ElDorado,ELO A few by Yes.. Anyway, you get the idea. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Danielj Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Sgt.Peppers of course-The Beatles Breakfast In America-Supertramp I've always preferred Crime Of The Century
_Annabelle_ Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Most of the Beatles main albums had classic covers. Like Abbey Road : King Crimson's In The Court of the Crimson King : Led Zeppelin's albums had pretty cool covers like the one on their debut: Also the obvious major bands like Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and The Who had some interesting covers.
boingobaby Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Almost any Boston album has a great cover.
cosmosis Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 I could go on forever, but here's some suggestions:
boingobaby Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Nice display. Man I must be old, I remember most of those!
cosmosis Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 How's this one for classic? btw, that's Paul's replacement.
_Annabelle_ Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 What on earth were they thinking with that? Not classic but unforgettable at least ::. Oh and I've heard that's Paul's body parts all over them.
cosmosis Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 I luuuuuv posting photos. Here's 10 more
Uncle Joe Posted August 27, 2004 Author Report Posted August 27, 2004 Lots of great ones there....thanks! Keep em coming.
Aunt_Acid Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Hmm. Someone started a thread just like this a while back. Can't remember who it was though. I think it was that Dave Gilmour guy.. hmm..
cosmosis Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Keep em coming. might come back tomorrow with some more ::
cosmosis Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 From Genesis To Revelation. Too big to post.
CaptainMikeRS Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 I have a room like that in my basement (well not yet, but I'm working on it). Mostly I have Aerosmith, Journey, Bad Company, The Rolling Stones, The Who, etc. I took the origional "case" that the record came in, since the records are in awful condition and my both record players broke, I'm making a wallpaper out of old albums. I can't get images to load so I'd suggest (I made a mini collage of some of the albums I see here for my lyrics binder): Rush- Moving Pictures ELP- Brain Salad Surgery Dream Theater- A Change of Seasons The Rolling Stones- Voodoo Lounge The Beatles- Abbey Road
bazooka Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Hmm. Someone started a thread just like this a while back. Can't remember who it was though. I think it was that Dave Gilmour guy.. hmm.. I remember that, DG. It was just a month ago. Again, I'll recommend a visit to the Tralfaz Archives album cover art gallery. It's filled with Classics, nostalgia and oddities.
cosmosis Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 well the one Gilmour started was about favorite covers while this one about covers to hang on the wall... maybe there's not much of a difference... anyways, I see this one hanging on my wall and Abbey Road and Bazzoka's avatar.
bazooka Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 When I got the Axis: Bold As Love CD I was bummed because the cover looked like this but ( hey cool ) if you fold the cover piece around inside-out, you get the genuine trippy original album art.
Aunt_Acid Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Anything by Yes. Pink Floyd had some pretty cool ones too.
Uncle Joe Posted August 27, 2004 Author Report Posted August 27, 2004 one more Oh Yeah....one of my all time favorites, which I had forgotten...thank you! These are all great. Well, not all...but most. I'm very appreciative.
