Lucky
escort the School M'aam home - ten miles the other direction - then walk the 20 miles back home I betcha it was uphill both ways too! I used to think, "Don't Be Gruel", but Momma usually made rabbit stew, fried goanna, or some other delicacy ...and Darryl said "ThankyouMomma, Thankyouverramuch"
c_s_1987
There are lots of Stones songs that have made the top ten that I would never consider voting for, but Start Me Up is one of my favourites. Just because it was recorded in the 80s doesn't mean it's bad. Teardrop
Levis
Start Me Up was the first Stones song I ever heard, and it was a massive anticlimax. But then, my favourite Stones song is 'Anybody Seen My Baby' and that came in last when I nominated it, so I'm no judge of these things

edna
Cool top, very classic again... cannot say that I don´t like it, I like those songs... "Start Me Up"... I feel like Radhi, a massive anticlimax... I love the Emotional Rescue album and it´s from 1980... I wonder why Leonard Cohen still didn´t make it... I know, he sounds boring for the mass... but he´s a genius, there´s plenty of artists who covered his songs and he´s one of the greatest poets/performers of the last 40 years... un artiste maudit, semble-t-il... You do...

edna
Edna, you been listening to the Live In London album? It's BEAUTIFUL! Not yet... I was waiting to have the computer fixed to watch some youtubes... and a friend sent me some of the songs too... There's a contest here too attend a Leonard Cohen concert in Paris! Off course I have exams to make at the time I´ve seen him maybe ten or fifteen times live... once he kept on coming back for the encores for one hour! at the end, I must admit he was boring... But he´s great... Try again next week Edna I will... soon.
Lucky
You know what, I don't know his music, hardly at all. Isn't that odd? I really don't understand that fact at all. I mean he is well known around the world, and is given credit for being a great artist. He just has never been all that popular in my world, and with the people that I know. What I do know I don't care for at all ... which I understand is almost sacriligious to those in Canada & Europe. I'm sorry ....
edna
I'm sorry .... Oh, don´t be sorry... I could never get to like Frank Zappa though everybody around me would say that I should love his music! I just don´t... et voilà !
Lucky
But you know of Zappa, heard his songs, at least a bit, right? I've never heard of Cohen, except from you. No way could I recognize any of his music, other than those songs I've heard here. He is apparently a well known figure! I just wonder if that isn't odd, or makes me odd. Maybe it's the midwest & St Louis thing? Maybe those on the coasts have more knowledge of him. That's it, maybe it's a redneck thang!
edna
He´s a Canadian poet/singer/writer... I guess he´s more famous among the European left-wing intellectuals than in other places... One day I´ll have a computer and then I´ll post some links for you... meanwhile, you know what? ...he´s sort of boring...
