Lucky Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 Wow, you should be terribly proud of that Ron. It would be so cool to see in "real life". I'm like Kevin, I love those types of shots, and all the details & bits of stories you can pick up. Very nice!
Epiphany Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 Yeah, that is pretty cool, and incredibly detailed. So is that one that Farin put up; I felt like I was stalking the people though.
edna Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 Ron, Maestro!! I love this sort of pictures... if ever you go to Buenos Aires try to take a big shot of my neighborhood (the whole city is much too big...)
Steel2Velvet Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Ron, Maestro!! I love this sort of pictures... if ever you go to Buenos Aires try to take a big shot of my neighborhood (the whole city is much too big...) I will do that for you, dear Edna, should I ever visit B.A. That city is on my short list of places to visit. When Diana and I firm up a date to go there, I will contact you for location details.
Steel2Velvet Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 There's hope yet for Brazil!! I took this in the park last week. This is the first time I had seen Brasileiros playing American football. I was encouraged. They are, however, all wearing pro soccer team clothing.
Farin Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 I've seen people in a park here playing Kubb... I don't think it's going to come even close to football in terms of popularity though
_Laurie_ Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Moscow in 1927 and New York in the 1940s Those are some great pics!...I love the slide show of New York
Epiphany Posted June 14, 2009 Author Report Posted June 14, 2009 I was just playing on the beach earlier today.
Farin Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 the Rainbow River The river "Caño Cristales", ca 100km long, is located in the "Sierra de la Macarena" national park in Colombia. It's also called "river of five colours" and is considered to be the most beautiful river of the world. Normally you can't tell it apart from a normal body of water, but because of the red, yellow, green and blue algae it's gleaming in rainbow colours for a few weeks every year.
Farin Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 your 'awwwww' of the day: Cute Kitty Overload
BlueAngel Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 I want them all... The main reason I avoid pet stores.
Shawna Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 nobody should EVER get their pets from a pet store!!! pet stores obtain their animals from puppy and kitten mills - they're usually sickly, and are treated with neglect, like objects rather than living things. always ALWAYS get your dog or cat from the humane society, or from an animal rescue. If people stop patronizing pet stores, then the ridiculously inhumane puppy and kitten mills will go out of business.
MarcM Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 This picture was taken this afternoon about 5 miles from my station. I am at the located approximately at the tree line at the middle of the photo.
Shawna Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 that's daunting. And scary as hell. Maybe I won't move back to So Cal when I grow up. No sleep for your neighborhood tonight, I bet, Marc. Get that hose out and water down your roof. I'll send some positive thoughts up to the rain gods...
Lea Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 That does not look good at all. Fire is a scary thing Ummm... Shawna is that a cow playing in the ocean in your avie
MarcM Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Shawna, this is where I work and, thankfully, not where I live. My place is getting a ton of smoke, though. Here is another picture, a lot close to the fire and actually in the area I work in. The fire has gotten a lot closer and bigger since this picture was taken this afternoon.
MarcM Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Ummm... Shawna is that a cow playing in the ocean in your avie Its a Sea Cow.
Lucky Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) And so is Shawna. Again. I remember that avatar, unless someone else had it. Frightening. I'm sure this is probably long hours for you. as well Marc. I hope they can tame it soon. And I hope this isn't the beginning of more. The weather surely isn't cooperating. I don't like these Santa Ana's. Edited August 29, 2009 by Guest
