  1. Guess the band AND album by the pic (since there's a limit of pic sizes, I can only do one at a time).
  2. 'Suspicious Minds' by Elvis. This tune was good a couple times around but now it resides in my 'loathed tunes' list.
  3. I hear ya. The only thing I can do is... 022032 = Dm9 (that chord you mentioned for 'Dogs')
  4. What's 'huzzah' Is that some kind of pizza?? Are you implying that we order a pizza for Carl & Sara?? That's so thoughtful of you TP. ::
  5. Mine are the first two... You Never Give Me Your Money Sun King I LOVE to play both tunes on the guitar. 'Sun King' was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross." My guitar version for 'You never... money." Ant
  6. After the Goldrush by Neil Young Yesterday by the Beatles ::
  7. Sounds like a pitch-flatuate in the recording (on the board by engineer). Not an uncommon technique. I'm pretty sure (David) Gilmour tuned his (standard tuned) guitars to concert pitch (many, MANY guitarists tune 1/2 step down eg. EVH, most if not all metal guitarists, etc.). In other words, he's playing in E but the final product was varispeeded (as to what you're implying). Does that make sense? A lot of it is intentional and some to cover for other instruments (ie. brass instruments, vocals, etc.). A good example for intentional is The Beatles' "When I'm Sixty-Four." Hope that helps! Ant
  8. Oh, I had to reply to this... that was rich
  9. TP - You gotta get... Hey Album! by Marvelous 3 Left ff Self-Centered by Butch Walker In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3 by Coheed & Cambria Tell All Your Friends by Taking Back Sunday Dream To Make Believe by Armor for Sleep Let it Go by Galactic Cowboys
  10. Nah, I kinda like it that way Besides, I'm not one to edit my posts to look like a goody-two-shoes for spite of acknowledgment (yes Sara - IMO, that feature for editing can be misleading. I've read posts where it was edited (and not mentioned) to change the meaning and making other(s) replys (to that original post) beforehand look rather silly). <---- did that sound confusing? Ant
  11. Nope - both wrong. I know those 2 tunes. Thanks for trying though I've already played many clips of Leo Sayer and it looks like he's not the one either. There's a DJ I know here in Ontario and I'll probably send him an email. I'm pretty sure his station has played this tune. I'll let you know if I get around to it. Ant
  12. hmmmmmmm, I noticed the word (D i c k) bleeped out. That's his name!
  13. Although Martin has made credible (to an extent) facts, I'll further add... From the start, Paul wanted it to be "McCartney - Lennon." They had a meeting with Brian Epstein & John (and I'm not sure who else - possible George, Ringo, [bleep] James). The former were adamant that it be Lennon/McCartney. Paul himself has said, "No, it can't be Lennon first..." The familiar (Lennon/McCartney) started with "She Loves You." For 'Yesterday', well let's go back just a tad bit. Brian Epstein made some shoddy deals for the group especially with [bleep] James (music publisher). Paul (today) only gets 15% for 'Yesterday'. John Lennon has said that [bleep] James claimed that he made the Beatles. John later retorted, "I'd like to hear [bleep] James's music, please. Just play me some." Ant
  14. "Back Where You Belong" by Foreigner. I LOVE this tune but oh how I wish they carried the outro for another 30 minutes or so. IMO, the best vocals on any Foreigner tune. "I'm Your Captain" by Grand Funk (btw, this guy went on saying it's called "Closer to home" or "Closer to Home/I'm Your Captain" and I tried to explain that for some reason they titled it like that for GH packages but it's officially called, "I'm Your Captain." He went on to try and discredit me over something so trivial). Anyhoo, there are a couple of instances... 1) After the middle part are you really scheming... take my ship away from me... it kicks into high gear. However, it only lasts a few measures. Oh how I wish it went on for say, 30 minutes! 2) After that last verse, the tune goes slow and you hear ocean effects. After a few, " I'm getting closer to my home... (tune) kicks back in. Then Mark does this nice bluesy, 2 string bend licks. And again, it doesn't last long and I'm thinkin' maybe it should be say, 30 minutes!! So let's add it up... Song's originally 10 min long. Add my two parts @ 30 min ea = 1 hour and 10 minute tune. I can live with that!! Ant
  15. That album was comprised from '2' concerts and one of them right here in Ontario (Toronto). Call me a softie but "Jailbreak" does it for me. The guitars in the last track, "Emerald" just smoke!!
  16. Well it's not Gilbert O'Sullivan. I'm thinking Leo Sayer. Maybe??
  17. I'm glad you didn't pick "Metal Machine Music." ::
  18. The drumming is perfect on The Standell's "Dirty Water." The bass pedal work is in exact for different measures repeated throughout the tune. A lot of tunes are like that but that's the first in mind. And it's got a great beat!! Tim "Herb" Alexander on Primus' "Jerry was a Race Car Driver." Love that beat whether Tim is using a double bass drum or is one of the fastest foot-pedal players. I love the beat in the middle of Golden Earring's "Are You Receiving Me." Love the beat in Pink Floyd's "Pigs (Three Different Ones)." Ant
  19. The Beatles' "Your Mother Should Know" & "Ask Me Why" Foreigner's "Back Where You Belong" Queen's "Doing All Right" Rolling Stones' "Memory Motel" & "I Am Waiting" Yes' "To Be Over" Goo Goo Dolls' "Close Your Eyes" lots more...... oh, AC/DC's "(Ain't No Fun) Waiting 'round to be a Millionaire"
  20. The last part is definitely not you It looks like you've been a member here for 2 1/2 years. As for your first sentence, I concur.
  21. It means absolutely zilch but not in all eyes. The ones to look out for?? The ones who reply with just "LOL" (or similar), or copy/quote a previous post and reply with just a smilie or two (no text), etc., etc. It's okay to do in once or so but not here, there or everywhere. I've seen it in every board where there's a few that believe their status gets more respect... in many ways, a wannabe martyr. I think it's cute how Carl has set it up but I don't pay attention to it.
  22. Well, that's the story. 'Layla' was Patti Boyd Harrison, George's wife. Also, guess who was the best man for Eric and Patti's wedding? Yep, George. Just so you know, Eric and Patti are also divorced.
  23. Hi Brandon - I don't have an answer for your query (yet) but wanted to make note about allmusic. Just so you know, allmusic is also user submitted. In other words, inaccuracy. At another forum (music related), some of the members don't bother with the site for not being reliable. IMO, allmusic is a pretty good resource. I too have noticed wrong release dates, missing musicians on certain albums, etc. The most reliable resources are either from the mouth of the source or books, mags, etc. You know they had to get any or all copyrights. Personally, I use allmusic. If I'm doubtful, I always have my own personal resources. Ant
  24. Jake E. Lee Gary Richrath (REO Speedwagon) Frank Marino Paul Kossoff (Free) Alice Lee (TYA) Mick Box (Uriah Heep) Mick Rogers (MMEB) Kim Mitchell Manny Charlton (Nazareth) Tom Johnston (Doobies) Joe Walsh John, Paul, & George Ant
