  1. How about [*]songs with body parts in the title ? [*]songs involved in lawsuits ? [*] animals ? There's all sorts of ammunition right here. Along with the Songfacts for most any song, you get a list of other songs with some common element.
  2. "May the Good Lord take a likin' to ya, and blow you up real good!" ~ Billy Sol Hurok & Big Jim McBob ... and may He blow you up real good as well, levis517. But not before you deliver another "in common" list.

  4. For some strange reason, I got an image of the late Persis Khambatta as Deltan navigator Lt. Ilia stuck in my head, and had to find some way to get it out. I also remembered her appearance in the disappointing Megaforce starring Barry Bostwick, but didn't include that one as I felt I'd been esoteric enough. Tina Turner. Tina was the Acid Queen in Tommy, co-starred in Beyond Thunderdome, and sang the title song for Goldeneye. Velma Von Tussle from the movie Hairspray is more my style, but Put on your high-heel sneakers, Wear your wig hat on your head. Well I'm pretty sure now darling 'Cause you know you gonna knock 'em dead.
  5. ... along with thousands & thousands of other films. Nope Karhul. My focus was a bit narrower. The common element won't jump out, but it's pretty easy to find.

How about I'm Mad Again by The Animals I had a friend one time, At least I thought he was my friend For he came to me, said "I ain't got no place to go" I said "Take it easy man, you can come home to my house. I'll get you a pillow where you can rest your head" Took him home with me, let him in my house, Let him drive my Cadillac that I could not afford. When I found out he'd been messin' around with my baby You know I'm mad Like Al Capone I said I'm mad Like Sonny Liston You know baby I'm mad Like Cassius Clay You know I'm mad, you know I'm mad Yeah baby, alright baby I'm mad, come on Took him home with me, Introduced him to my baby, He began to talk to her, Made her think the moon was blue. You know I think I ought to tell you daddy I'm mad, I said I'm mad with you I don't know what I'm gonna do to you I might drown you, I might shoot you I just don't know Because I'm mad I said I'm mad You know I'm mad I don't have to tell you I'm mad with you, yeah I said I'm mad Yeah yeah yeah I said I'm mad You know I'm mad, oh baby I'm mad Oh I said I'm mad, you know I'm mad, oh baby I'm mad ...

  8. " I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." ~ Thomas Carlyle Each of these guys was at one time lead singer for the group Rainbow. Joe Lynn Turner replaced Graham Bonnet who had replaced Ronnie James Dio. All of them were recruited by Rainbow's founder Ritchie Blackmore.

  10. Hey Ron/Chris/Dave/Roger/ Was that Santana's version of Black Magic Woman (US hit)? Or the original by Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac (UK hit)? Either one "is great". from various sources At the 1998 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction festivities, Santana played Black Magic Woman, and the group was joined onstage by fellow inductee Fleetwood Mac founder and guitarist Peter Green, who originally penned the song for his own band. Other Peter Green favorites: [*] The Supernatural. Recorded with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (Green replaced Eric Clapton in the Bluesbreakers. According to legend, this is the song which made a musician out of Carlos Santana.) [*] Green Manalishi. Before he left Fleetwood Mac, Green began to hate the fame, and started to give away his fortune while trying to convince the other group members to do the same. Green?s depression and LSD-fueled psychosis sidetracked him for the next 26 years. He was receiving legally enforced psychiatric treatment was subjected to both heavy drug treatments and electroshock, as he cycled in and out of psychiatric hospitals. Green resumed sporadic recording in the late 1990s. He surfaces unexpectedly from time to time. And, by the way, who died?
  11. I went google fishin' and came up with B. J. Thomas (<) He did jingles for Coke in the late '60s, and then for Pepsi in 1971. I have no proof he was the FIRST double-dipper, however.
  12. There are some entertaining bits about backward messages (otherwise, but incorrectly, known as backmasking) in this informative article.
  13. The Swinging Medallions * Double Shot (of My Baby's Love) 1966 * Woke up this morning, my head was so bad The worst hangover that I ever had What happened to me last night That girl of mine, she loved me so right She loved me so long and she loved me so hard I finally passed out in her front yard It wasn't wine that I had too much of It was a double shot of my baby's love Double shot of my baby's love, yeah yeah, yeah Double shot of my baby's love, yeah yeah, yeah A potion that I had too much of It was a double shot of my baby's love It was such a thrill it was hurtin' me I was sufferin' in ecstasy She had me turnin' flips and-a shoutin' out loud A sip of her love and I was walkin' one a cloud One night a week is-a plenty enough It's a good thing for me they don't bottle that stuff Well, my heart begins to fly like a dove When I take a double shot of my baby's love
  14. It got difficult to get on or stay on the site recently, so I turned to other sources of amusement. Something I bumped into out on the back roads was this musical miscreants quiz (<), part of a larger multi-subject trivia contest from 10 years ago. Interesting reading, whether you know the answers or not. Sorry to interrupt the action. Carry on, Old Double-Nickel.
  15. Never mind. I made that The Odd Man Out Who Shot Liberty Valance post during the time you were declaring the question closed.
  16. Answer to Question C: Peter Sellers, Woody Allen, and Ursula Andress appeared in both What's New, Pussycat? and Casino Royale. None of them was in the cast of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

    Motown.

Speaking of soundtracks. This isn't necessarily bona fide Motown but definitely in the same vein. From a different thread
