  1. I saw them live just over a year ago; they put up a pretty amazing show. His cavernous vocals still have that peculiar & calming (at the same time) sense to them. I could see how they could be labeled as Arena Rock just based on the immense show.
  2. ebay has some of the stupidist crap, that guy seems like a scammer, "Buy now for $100" I'd like to see if he even has proof of it actually being from Glastonbury. But this is still not as bad as that guy who was selling "poop in a jar" on ebay.
  3. I like it, because to me, it's somewhat personal, & something I can keep with me just about anywhere my travels take me. I don't pay attention to commercial music, or for reasons of "fitting in" If the music I enjoy gets me labeled as an outcast, then I can face the music. I've spent too much time in the past trying to find meaning out of song, instead of harmonizing up for melodic composition, like most others do. Anything with precision, devotion, biased & poignant significance as well as asceticism, impropriety, & even immoral proficiency are ideals I ponder whilst listening to the music of my taste. I find uninhibited antagonism, clearly written & identifiable, even to an inconsiderate degree.
  4. They have some pretty good songs for this day in age, including the one that Tenacious posted the lyrics to, & some of the tracks off their first album. I wouldn't go as far to say they suck, when they're a lot better than most of the other stuff that's out right now.
  5. Lost in Translation, it was a total over rated letdown, the reviews said it was Murray's best film, the problem is, there was no plot what-so-ever. It was mostly just a repetitive storyline going over & over again about him pitching a Japanese Whiskey, meeting a girl that's too young & way out of his league (she always complained and acted so depressed with no reason)& it faced little consequences. Another terrible movie IMO was "You Got Served", the reviews said this movie had a script, but it's no where to be found, mostly just an incoherent piece of crap. "From Justin to Kelly" was pretty lame, who cares about the American Idol winners, they still suck. Glitter with Mariah Carey (I'm not even gonna get into this one) Gigli was also pretty bad, but I didn't watch the entire film, the main stars have played in better films. Battlefield Earth was pretty tasteless also, so was Fear Dot Com (I couldn't make any sense out of this one). There's a bunch more, but I try to forget ever witnessing those lacklusters.
  6. I didn't know Depeche Mode & New Order counted, otherwise I would've picked them, to me they're both great bands, but I've always classified them under more Alternative-rooted, seeing as how they didn't completely electronicize their music.
  7. A few off the top of my head... Bad Company - Shooting Star Black Sabbath - Nativity in Black Boston - More than a Feeling Derek & the Dominos - Layla The Doors - LA Woman Led Zeppelin - Trampled Under Foot Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly Rush - Subdivisions Tom Petty - Running Down a Dream Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart
  8. Yeah I remember that episode, I think (if memory serves) Jerry has that Leather Jacket with the pinstripe lining & doesn't want to ruin it. I happened to have the song stuck in my head the other day for some odd reason though.
  9. Sometimes I listen to rock (such as Van Halen - Jump or Dreams, etc) but usually I go with Electronica/Techno based music, even if I don't like it. It's more energizing & pumps up.
  10. LOL, it was no problem, I had to do a google search on the lyric though.

    Help

Usually they're posted on This Thread but a mod or regular user could help you with that more than I can.
  12. Thanks! I had that stuck in my head one night & woke up wondering about it, I wasn't sure who sang it, since it was from a film score.
  13. I may have to pick up a copy of this, too bad it's less than half an hour long, but the whole exertion of the album looks promising. Seeing as how these songs aren?t inclusive covers, but more their variation of the preceding genre, this could be a strong album. I just hope my anticipation doesn?t get guided in the wrong direction.
  14. OMG ! :: That's disgusting @ 2 posts above HaHa Now I must throw away my breakfast Oh & the lyrics are ... Roses smell like boo-boo
  15. Could it be U2-Beautiful Day, or possibly Matchbox 20, even though that doesn't fit the time circa, but the only thing that comes to my head. ::
  16. Bonnie Raitt - Not the Only One Chorus I was in a daze, moving in the wrong direction Feelin that Id always be the lonely one Then I saw your face, on the edge of my horizon Whisperin that I wasnt the only one The lonely one. One Chance intervention, see what it can signify The slightest misrapprehension, baby And wed have passed each other by When I heard your sweet voice callin Saw your light come shinin through I couldnt stop my heart from turning Churin out my love for you, my love to you. Chorus True love or prefection It seems like its overdue Then just when you least expect it It comes sneakin up on you When I thought that I was dreaming Felt your body close to mine Now love takes on a different meaning Togethor till the end of time. Chorus I was in a daze, movin in the wrong direction Feelin that Id always be the lonely one When I saw your face through the web of my confusion Whisperin that I wasnt the only one The lonely one.
  17. Most definitely, they had over 10 songs in the top 10, my favorite one was Eli's Coming. But if they haven't been inducted already, then they should be at any time now.
  18. When MTV did the Top 25 worst videos of all time, that was #1 & Dennis Leary grinded up the video in a blender after it was done playing. Another bad one was the song / music video Bruce Willis did back in the late 80's. I forget the name of the song.
  19. Is that the song that starts off "it's normal for girls to wear jeans..." I've heard it, but only directly off the CD.
  20. A few of my favorites, in no particular order: Aphex Twin Cybotron Daft Punk DJ T-1000 Fatboy Slim Infiniti Moby Orbital Art of Noise deserves mention for being one of the first to pave the way back in the 80?s.
  21. This song is a cover? Whoever they covered it from, they had to of changed the lyrics, I can tell that much LOL Sample Lyrics I know you'd like to thank your s*** don't stank But lean a little bit closer See that roses really smell like boo-boo Yeah, roses really smell like boo-boo Well she's got a hotty body, but her attitude is potty When I met her at a party she was hardly acting naughty I said "Would you call me?" She said "Pardon me, are you ballin'?" I said "Darling, you sound like a prostitute pursing" Oh so you're one them freaks, get geeked at the sight of ATM receipts But game been peeped, dropping names she's weak Trickin' off this b**** is lost Must take me for a geek a quick way to eat A neat place sleep, a rent-a-car for a week, a trick for a treat Now go on the raw sex, my AIDS test is flawless Regardless, we don't want to get involved with no lawyers And judges just to hold grudges in a courtroom I wanna see ya support bra not support you! 22. Derek & the Dominos - Layla Led Zeppelin - Heartbreaker Pink Floyd - Time The Eagles - Hotel California AC/DC - Back in Black Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls Megadeth - Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Guns N' Roses - You Could Be Mine :guitar:
  23. Their first 2 albums came out in 1969, but I agree that it was the best time for music. Another year that was really good for music was: 1971 IV (Led Zeppelin) Sticky Fingers (Rolling Stones) Imagine (John Lennon) LA Woman (The Doors) Who's Next (The Who) Pearl (Janis Joplin)
  24. I wonder if they're referring to the Box Set or this is some sort of error What surprises me is that Creed & Kidrock have both outsold Nevermind from Nirvana, it just goes to show the whole tag-along when it comes to corporate rock mainstream.
  25. Most music videos (even the good ones) are like that :: I can't think of any off hand, because I haven't really seen any videos on MTV in years
