I was just wondering why back in the late fifties-early sixties, drummers had their drums lower (closer to the ground) than todays drums? Does one have an advantage over the other? Or was that just what looked cool back then?

I'm looking for a good music magazine to read, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Right now I will ocasionally read Rolling Stone, but it has too much ads. In the middle of their "50 moments that changed music forever" article they had a 8 pages of sunglasses ads in a row. Too much ads. They also have a somewhat skewed view of music (they said that the concert in New York after 9-11 changed music forever, and have said many other weird things). Then I read 2 guitar magazines, Guitarone, and Guitarworld, but those had even more ads! They seemed to be nothing but ads! So does anybody have some suggestions for good music magazines?

What is the best movie inspired by, or about drugs? Some of these movies I'm not sure would really fall under the "drug movie" classification but who really cares.

It seems like alot of these aren't really the best moments of metal, just some of the most memorable. I think that the thing or Tony Iommi's bottle cap fingers should be the number 1. I also think that Inna-Gadda-Davida should be MUCH higher. IMO, that was the first real heavy metal song.

Heart shaped box, anti abortion song. This one is a long shot, seeing that many people think this guy is satanistic (he's not) but Crazy Train, by Ozzy. This song is all about people needing to come together and settle their differences. The only problem is he says "ive listened to preachers. Ive listened to fools." he says them seperately but it sounds like he says "Ive listened to preachers listened to fools". The preachers at your church my feel insulted if Ozzy calls them fools.
