  1. Hey Kenne~ Glad you liked them! Sorry I'm replying 3 weeks later...I forgot that I put something in this thread! The song that was written for me was by Pete (the Guitar player). He also does solo gigs and just plays his guitar and sings without the band. From what he tells me, he has changed the original version to something with a more "sexy" feel, though I have not heard that version yet. But he says the crowd really enjoys it. :: The next time I speak to him, I will ask for another copy of his most recent C.D. that I just got a short time ago in the mail and send it to you.
  2. Hi Theresa~ Well, what type of genre would you prefer??....I can think of a few, but my personal taste in music is rather eclectic.
  3. Cat~ WOW! I'm intrueged. Your son sounds like an "old soul". I think you can always tell when a child is going to be a "healer" in their adult life. Even at a very young age, they display all or most of the characteristics of spirituality and intuition. My youngest brother, Ramsey, who is 4 years old now (yes there is a 21 year gap between us : has always been very "in tune" with his surroundings and people he comes in contact with...even when he was an infant. Just recently he met our grandmother and my mom's sisters for the first time. My aunt, Gina, who tends to be on the un-happy side of dispositions from what I hear, asked him for a hug. He starts hugging her but it wasn't just a hug, he held her SO tight and his eyes started to get all misty. He just did that for like 10 minutes. It was as if he KNEW she needed some unconditional healing love. It was really neat.
  4. You realize, of course, that my favorite past time is playing "devil's advocate" don't you??? :: But in all honesty, I seriously don't think that everything he says would relate to Kurt OR Courtney in some way or another. I'm sure they have and will make references to Kurt, but I'm just saying, I think the Foo-Fighters have a little more talent musically and lyrically than to constantly dredge up the past about Kurt....or what they think of Ms. Love. As always, this just happens to be own opinion.
  5. That's a good question Scott. In my opinion, however, I think maybe in one of the 1st songs you hear it in, it may have had references to Kurt. But think of this: How many other artists/bands use a certain phrase or same type of phrase over and over in many of their songs? I am trying to think of a gleaming example at the moment.... ::.....
  6. Well I have always believed there is ONE word that can sum-up the reason for todays "Pop-singers" , ie. Britney, Jessica Simpson, Avril, Kelly Osborne for her ONE whole song "Papa Don't Preach", rising to super-stardum : MONEY!!! Oh and lets not forget the BOY bands...same thing! They ALL grew up in wealthy homes and their parents had the money to buy their children's way in. None of them, I guarantee, have a story such as Jewl's. She lived in a van down in Ocean Beach, California, played music on the street for money or in coffee shops when she was lucky and was finally discovered by "Flea" from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Even though Jewl has let it go to her head now, which is unfortuante, I've always appreciated her music. Because she can sing AND play the guitar. Something all of these little teeny-bopper "IDOLS" don't do...and half the time they don't even REALLY sing on stage and when they do they are horribly TONE-DEAF!...I find the whole thin tragic.

    21 Grams

Well, as for me, I just rented it Sunday night...finally! I've actually been trying rent it since it came to DVD but Hollywood Video only got like 5 copies!!! Not to get off the subject but, why is that movie rental places will have the "Guarnteed In Stock" for certain movies and not others?? Like, did we really need "Gigli" guarnteed in stock?? NO! "Cheaper By the Dozen"?? NO!! But here is a wonderfully twisted, bring you to tears, I missed 2 seconds when I got up I have to rewind it, movie...and they had 5 whole copies. What is this world coming to.....
  8. Loyd: "So why you goin' to the airport...flyin' somewhere?" Mary: How'd you guess? Loyd: "I saw your luggage...then when I saw the airline ticket and put two and two together" Loyd: So where you headed? Mary: Aspen. Loyd: MMmmmm...Californina...beautiful. Loyd: This isn't my real job ya know? Mary: No? Loyd: Nooope, me and my friend Harry are saving our money to open our own pet store... I GOT WORMS! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  9. "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas" is one of my personal favorites when it comes to "drug" movies. I actually think it gets funnier everytime I watch it!
  10. Yeah...you know what? I am lame...I'm not sure why I put that, I meant the "Lunch Lady" song... Give me a break...I'm at work...I just pop in...post...and leave. ::
  11. Well, it looks like Adam Sandler was forgotten! Some of his songs are kind of dumb...but there are so many that are just hilarious!!! Medium Pace Wasted The Hanukuh Song and...I am drawing blank...I suppose it's because his CD's are not all songs, but the skits are funny too.
  12. Hey Kenne~ Imagine if Weezer & Incubus had an illegitimate musical child...they sound like that! I am only half way kidding...if you to go their website and click SOUNDS, they have 5 songs that you can listen to. Check out "Free To Be" and "Always". Free To Be is one of my personal favorites! Pete wrote a song about me called "Tara's Song"...he plays it at every show! It is not on the sample play list though I ofcourse have several of their CD's, some are of them (or just Pete) messin' around in Pete's "studio" and others are live but all of them are good. Give a listen and let me know what you think. ~Tara~
  13. For anyone who dwells in the L.A. area or is planning on visiting soon, there is a band called "Tomorrow" that should NOT be missed!! One of my dearest friends, Pete Morozoff, is the guitar player. The band leans toward the hard rock genre but also has a mellower side. Aside from the occasional cover song, they play all original music. For show dates & sample songs check out their website! www.tomorrowmusic.net ~Tara~
  14. Well, on many occasions that I have caught an episode, I found it entertaining. I have not seen it enough times to be an "expert" on the show...I just remember at certain times laughing out loud. And just as a P.S. , I didn't think in my post that I made it sound like it was the end-all be-all of Brit-coms...It just happened to be another that I remember seeing. ~Tara
  15. I just thought of a hilarious "Brit-com"...anyone ever seen "Are You Being Served"?? I have trouble finding it since I am without cable ( ) but every now and then I will catch it on PBS.

    Worst film?

"One Hour Photo"...I thought this movie was BEYOND lame! It had the potential to be scary, but ended up being a HUGE let down! And...damn it...what is the name of the newest movie with Bill Murray? The one where he is in China...he is like a famous actor out there doing commercials for a certain type of Brandy and meets a young American girl and they become friends and :sleepy:...Give me a break! This movie was a SNOOZER!!!
  17. I am SO glad that I have my own office! I have not laughed that hard in....I cannot even remember!! Thanks for that Twisted!!! ::
  18. Well, I have made it NO secret that TOOL is my favorite band. (hence the screen name) :: My favorite songs...uuuhhh...well: OPIATE: Sweat,Part of Me, Opiate UNDERTOW: 4 degrees, Undertow, Bottom AENEMA: Eulogy, H, Third Eye, Hooker with a Penis LATERALUS: The Grudge, Reflection, The Patient, Parabola ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Perfect Circle is amazing! Favorite songs: The Noose Rose Magdalena Stranger 3 Libras I sort of mixed my favorite songs from BOTH albums. Oh well.
  19. The drums!! What would music be without drums? They keep the beat of the music. Imagine some of your favorite songs without the drum part...would sound pretty silly. Except for the instences when someone takes a song and plays an acoustic version with JUST the guitar...I really like when artists do that...just play in the "raw" without all of the high tech gear to give the false sense of talent. I really think the talent of a band or solo artist can be measured by their live performances. Maybe not in every case...but more often then not IMO.
  20. And...Civil War, Mr. Brownstone, Get in the Ring, Pretty Tied Up, Night Train, So Easy (I think that's the name)I can go on and on! G&R is not my favorite now, but they used to be and I still love to listen to ALL of their albums when I am in my "back in the day music" mood. :: Not to mention, I don't really feel that a band has to be publically HUGE in order to be recognized for being talented. My favorite band TOOL, if you have never heard or do not own one of their albums, how many songs do you know by them?? Let me take a wild guess here: Sober, Aenema, 46 & 2, Schism?? Funny because 3 of those songs are from only 1 album. Most have never heard "Opiate" and Undertow is a fantastic album that was only recognized by the "public" for "Sober". I think my point is clear, just because YOU only know a few songs by a band does not mean that they are any less talented than the bands that everyone knows every song on every album.
  21. Okay, since we are on the topic of Hip-Hop I need to ask a question....There is a song from WAY back in the day. It is a hip-hop song...I don't know the name of the song...or who sings it...does that explain it? Just kidding...and the kicker is...I only know a verse or two. It is one of those songs that I have looked for on the net, asked everyone I know...no one knows, however, I KNOW it's one of those songs that as soon as anyone heard they would be like, "Oooohhh.... that song!" So, without further adu, here are the lyrics...please help me end my search here....please.... It starts off with almost a flute like rythum as you would here in a few Beastie Boys songs...like the one begining with, "You know you can't, you won't and you don't stop"... Anyway, THIS song starts with that kind of music and the 1st lyrics are: Well in my younger days I used to sport a saaaack somethin, something, something With an apple for the teacher 'cause I knew I'de get a kiss something, something, something Chorus: She keeps on passin' me by..... Ringin ANY bells???
  22. Well Ms. Peachy, nothing is wrong with it. :: Maybe my joke (that I laughed out loud to when I thought it) was a lot funnier in my mind and somehow lost it's humor somewhere between typing it...and clicking "continue"?? I don't know....hey...if you can't amuse yourself some times...what fun is life? Just for you, I will make no more mocking remarks regarding Mr. John Cusack because he IS a cutie.
  23. Identity was not THAT bad of a film...but come on...honestly...was this not yet ANOTHER movie with John Cusack walking around in the rain?
  24. Simon & Garfunkle for one. The song "The sound of silence" and a few others. On the other hand, they have some really up beat songs too...but they've shown they had the ability to write serious as well. TOOL, most of their songs are deep and meaningful IMO. Jim Croche and...at the memoent I am drawing a blank...... ::
  25. Wow, that's really interesting. That second song hits pretty close to home for me. I really love how music can do that. Bring up memories good or bad. But for some reason I think when these memories are brought up through music, they are easier to handle. It's almost like the way you are relating to a song makes you realize that everyone goes through less than desirable experiences in their life. Even "Rock Stars". It makes you feel less "alone" to know that other's may have had similar dealings in childhood as well. I don't know...I am just rambling.
