Kevin... it sounds like the fan belt. The squeal when you start the car is because the belt slips, but once the belt has gotten momentum to the wheels its supposed to be turning, it no longer slips (very common in any car). If you heard the squeal every time you turned the steering wheel then you should suspect the power-steering. Hope this helps
