  1. My Favorite Poem By: Charlotte Doyle To Long: The blood scripted scroll Clots its long, colorful gash Cut of paper bleeds It really speaks to what I believe, ya know?
  2. Thanks. I loove writing, poetry, especially poignant poetry evidenced by the poem above. Every word was carefully measured, every syallable carefully weighed.
  3. Didnt Jon Lennon say, supposiedly "He (Ringo) is not even the best drummer in the The Beatles." Thats rough paraphrasing though.
  4. Kalahari So here I am One last time Alone, like the land Parched dreams Fight over the canteen of hope Bobbling it, spilling it, As I lay The wind whistles silence Though it blows all the time Dust and dismay Upon this half world Violet skies pursue a fleeing sun Colored cacophony flood my eyes A tide of lies washes a mirage of ease Upon the torched shores of my flesh
  5. Good Idea. The writing seems hackneyed.
  6. My friend asked me if I could ascertain the name of this song I heard on the radio. I would have inquired on Adtunes.com, however, I seldom use that site and belive songfacts provides more insighful feedback regarding these matters. The song has been on the radio recently, and has the line, "...Red Hot Love..." It's a mid-tempo song, and really catchy. If anyone knows the name of this song, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again.
  7. Jaco Pastoias (Weather Report) Les Cleypool (Primus) John Wetton (King Crimson, UK) John Entwsitle (The Who) John Deacon (Queen) Tony Levin (King Crimson, solo) James Myung (Dream Theater) Holgar Czukay (CAN) Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order)
  8. This is a pleasant surpise. I have been listening to a lot of Post-rock lately mainly Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Godspeed You Black Emperor. I would like to listen to this band though, they remastereed their 2000 album. Pelican is a great band a perfect amalgamation of Post Rock and Metal.
  9. Joy Division had profoundly influence upon the future of music. Check Out: Touching from a Distance-Deborah Curtis, Ian Curtis' wife/widow If you have ever listened to Tool, you can tell Maynard James Keenean was influenced by Ian Curtis' vocals before he hanged himself at the age of 23. Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, said JD's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is the greatest song of alltime. i wouldnt agree with that atement, but it shows the influence they had upon bands. Moreover, there are striking similarities between Cobain's suicide and Curtis' suicide. my avatar is Ian Curtis
  10. What are the most ethereal songs you have listened to? Which songs evoke an earthy, spiritual vibe? A few of mine are: Ceremony-Joy Division Summer 68- Pink Floyd Long Away-Queen
  11. Nobody has heard of his rendition of "Like a Rolling Stone" before; you have unearthed a Hendrix tune nobody has ever heard before. Congratulations lol
  12. Free. Rodgers, Kossof, Kirke, and Fraser. The remastering of this classic live album is impeccable and the bonus tracks are a must for any ardent Free fan. The original album (consisting of tracks one through eight)are stellar. The album kicks off with the classic, "All Rigth Now" This song basically shaped all of AC/DC's material in both the Bon Scott Era (the better era of AC/DC) and the Brian Johnson Era. A Free neophyte would easily asscocite the opening track, "All Rigth Now" with AC/DC, an rightly so. "Be My Friend" and "Get to Where I Belong" are a couple of best slow, riff-rocking, awe-inspiring songs on this album and it is truly an experience to here it live. One may be inclined to inquire. what are the better live albums than Free Live? They are: 1. How the West Was Won-Led Zeppelin 2. On Your Feet or On Your Knees-Blue Oyster Cult IMPORTANT: Free Live is a perfect amalgamtion of the two aforementioned live albums. First, Free Live is remastered, like How The West Was Won. Secondly, this album is one CD runs about 77 minuted long, like On Your Feet Or On Your Knees. You will not find blazing guitar solos, although their are some outstanding ones included in this album, this more of a vocals ephasized album, not guitar oriented album.
  13. How this be called this a comprehensive list of the best songs of all time. There are scores of egregious omissions on the list posted above.......I do not know where to begin. Not a single T. Rex song Not a single Cat Stevens (wonder why?) Cat Stevens is amzing better than James Taylor for sure. Has anyone listned to Teaser and the Firecat up there? New Masters? "First Cut is the Deepest" Thats Cat Stevens, not the pretentious Rod Stewert or the insufferable Sheryl Crowe we have come to know and love. Not a single Caravan song. An not a single Soft Machine song for that matter. An amazing progressive rock outfit to emerge from the "canterbury sound" of late 60s follwing the dichotomy of the Wilde Flowers. Half of the memebers formed Soft machine while the remaining guys formed Caravan. New Order/Joy Division? Yes this may appear biased considering my avatar is a picture of the late Ian Curtis. "Still," no pun intended, Kurt Cobain allegedly said, "Love will tear us apart: is the greatest song of alltime. Furthermore, NME named this the greatest single of alltime in 2002 and it doesnt even appear on the list. http://www.rocklist.net/nme_singles.htm I simply cannot I comprehend how listeners can overlook so many talented rock groups when comiling a list of the , supposedly, greatest songs of alltime. No Hard feelings. BTW. My favorite song of all time is, "Summer '68" Richard Wright on vocals. Its beautiful, perhaps, ethereal. You ought to check it out; its on Atom Heart Mother.
  14. KANYE WEST SUCKS. HE RIPS OFF ARTISTS THAT ARE MORE TALENTED THAN HIM.
  15. Q104.3 is for jocks who are ignorant about music. NO OFFENSE. This is the tenth year straight Stairway to Heaven, Baba O'Reily, and Layla, have been in the top five songs of the year. The lack of change on the list from year to year makes it disinteresting and ignorant.
  16. hey, ive been trying to get into bands like Can Neu! and Kraftwerk. whats the best album (no compilations) to start with? whose the best of three mentioed above? Thanks
  17. The most honest music I have ever listened to. I have three of their albums: Substance Unknown Pleasures Closer What do people think about this band and the aforementioned albums? Personally, I love Unknown Pleasures, its probably my favorite studio album by this short-lived post punk rock and roll outfit. Joy Division Rocks. Brainblast: Joy Division was a group of attractive jewish women assmebled together for a Nazi officers enjoyment during WWII. The German officer would select a handful of attractive Jewish women and the group of women was labelled "Joy Division." Any New Order fans? New Order albums I have: Power, Corru[ption and Lies Technique Low-Life My favorite is Technique. It has an ethereal quality to it that makes itmore intriguing than their prior efforts. However, I still like Low-Life and PCL. New Order Rocks
  18. CAT STEVENS IS AWESOME. I LOVE CAT STEVENS I HAVE ALL OF HIS ALBUMS. MY FAVORITES: TEASER AND THE FIRECAT IZITOSO MONA BONE JAKON TEA FOR THE TILLERMAN BUDDHA AND THE CHOCOLATE BOX FOREIGNER CAT STEVENS IS MY FOURTH FAVORITE MUSICIAN/GROUP OF ALLTIME. SHAME HE WAS NOT INDUCTED INTO THE HALL THIS YEAR. HE IS FAR BETTER AND MORE TALENTED THAN HIS CONTEMPORARIES (I..E CAROLE kING, whose music i thoroughly enjoy, and the soporific drone of James Taylor). James Taylor is such an insipid performer. Cat Stevens rocks!!! LISTEN TO CAT STEVENS
