I just want to say, getting back to Kazaa, one of the first posts on these message boards, that I now have a very good example of why file sharing sites should not get shut down. When Carl recommended Nickel Creek, I decided I'd give them a listen. When I did, using kazaa, I liked them very much. This morning went to Tower Records and bought Nickel Creek (their first album [it's unbelievable]). Now did that hurt the recording companies and the record stores, or did it help them? Thanks again Carl.

I can't stand Ani DeFranco. Her lyrics are really good, as is her guitar, but I hate her voice. I will check out Eddie From Ohio though Sara.

My brother, has some friends who just graduated from Stuyvesant highschool in New York City. During highschool, they formed a band called MugWump. MugWump is basically six or seven people who are extremely good at their instruments who got together and started a band. They play funk music and are extremely good. I'm sorry I have no additional information about them at the time of this post, but I couldn't wait to get the word out on MugWump. I will post again on MugWump when I have more info. Give them a listen!

Thanks for posting about nickel creek. I'm going to listen to their music and see what I think. Do you know if they live in Rhode Island? If not, where do they live? Also, do they have a website?

Yes thanks for the suggestions. There are many bands in New York City (where I live) that have quite good live shows. Most of their albums aren't that great. Well, I'm changing my name to Jason (my real name). Bye.

All of this is interesting, but I haven't found any really convincing clues towards murder. Cobain certainly could write lyrics, and Heart Shaped Box was a great song. By the way Scott, I don't find the thing about removing Love from his will very convincing. I mean that's a pretty drastic reaction. Well, whatever, I probably won't talk to much more about this, but debate away, Nirvana Lovers!

Some internet radio stations are do not pay although they are probably supposed to. They run like most college stations.

Even if Kazaa was somehow shut down, the man would never be able to keep up with the sites. As long as more are created, more will need to be shut down. It will be a wild goose chase.

Music in the 21st century has been quite depressing. The sad thing is, that because I'm only 13, I started listening to music in the 21st century. Their just isn't any good music that anyone knows about right know. There are a lot of good unpopular bands (The Alkaline Trio, MugWump, Homegrown, etc.), but nobody really good in the world of rock has gone big except for The White Stripes. The pop's a disgrace, and I'm not a rap fan (which doesn't mean it's bad). Another bad thing about rock in the 21st century, is the Deaths of Joey Ramone (2000), Joe Strummer and George Harrison (2001), and John Entwhistle (2002). As far as I know, no famous rock musicians have died this year (Thank God).
