Am I way off base or was this song not in "An American Werewolf In London"? I know it seems maybe too obvious, but, I really thought it was.

<<<<< Batman hon, notice my age. I happen to like the Electric Larryland, which may prove your "sellout" theory. I do love the CD though. I don't own it, don't even know the names of the songs. But my son has it, and years back played it for - freakin - ever!! I love the song with the (my descrption) little guy voice..."gotta have a lady, gotta have a lady baby....whaaaa". But then I also like some ICP which I would put in the novelty song thread. My strangest music is still Zappa and BEEFHEART!!! :guitar:

Is Avril Lavigne ever releasing another album?

Edna last I heard Windy was blowin along, just fine. The lovely Keith?? Hanging on her bedroom wall! A nameless someone did a full size sketch from that tiny avatar. -
or would that be " um ~ make love well"? I used to dance to Little Feat all the time. In my crowd it was the big party record for a time.

I'd forgotten this. I'm planning on a couple cd purchases this week. Just added to my list. Thanks for resurrecting the thread!

Never mind.

Connor, I'm taking it that you are fairly young? If so, there's gobs of stuff from the late 60's and 70's that I'm willing to bet you've never heard. Not your mainstream classic rock. There's lots more, that never gets airplay, that you wouldn't have heard. You can surf through these threads and find that. As an "older" (be nice ) person, two newer bands that I think have much the same sound of good old stuff are Los Lonely Boys, and The Scissor Sisters. You want way out of the mainstream stuff? Captain Beefheart. They could be likened to Zappa, but a little less weird and more musical.

Isn't that the truth??? And we get to claim him here in my hometown. I've wanted to find his parents house and ask just what is his deal? Take a perfectly good band and run it into the grouind!!

Jimmy there's a whole thread here somewhere, maybe as much as 2 years ago. As I said It was one he** of a party. Songfactors came from all over! Apologies to the Avril lovers! Is that an oxymoron?? I'm kidding!! -
Joes "itchy" unit seems to be working perfectly!!

Shannon.. I hope for your sake her new release will thrill you as much. Unfortunately, it must be a posthumus release, because about a year and a half ago, sammy, myself, and a few others who may or may not still be around, put an end to Avrils career, by putting an end to her . We used sporks. It was quite the party!! Brad and Shannon, hope this doesn't offend....it was kind of fun. -
I think some of you are taking Kylie too literally. Of course most songs are poetry, but I think she was referring to specific techniques. There are many songs written to just make you feel good (dancing, singing etc). I would not really call,oh say, The Twist by Chubby Checker a poem. Some songs are just stand alone songs . Smokin' In the Boys Room? Not much poetry. Besides the ones mentioned by others here, of course there are so many others, all opinions. Mine would be...Angel ~ Jimi Hendrix. Most all of Jimis stuff is pure poetry. Angel was a poem with the music as a pure afterthought, not as a source with the developement of a good song in mind. I would definately agree with Dylan, Bowie, Hendrix, Morrison and others who were considered poets in thier own right. But, many songs are just that...songs. Words that while they sound good, may have been put to a good beat..( I give that song a 7, cause you can dance to it), when you listen and break it down, not a lot of pure poetry there.

Tornando is season starting early. We've had 4 today, 4 or 5 yesterday. Cars on roofs. It's not even spring yet! 76 degrees today, and yesterday, dropping to 50 at night. In about 2 hours time. That's what does it. It sure felt good today though!!!

Batman, I'm astounded that your taste runs so close to mine all things considered!! You've got excellent taste in you 60's, and 70's and 80's music. (meaning very close to mine...just add some Stones) That's cool.

Never had one. I love mushrooms, but this sounds weird. Are they good?

I love the intro to "I Can Feel Him In The Morning" ~ Grand Funk Railroad. "I believe that there are more people that are bad, than there are good, And if you're good you'll live forever, and if you're bad, you die when you die... And if you're bad you die when you die.. Those kids get me everytime.
