MuzikTyme
Stuck In The Middle With You - Stealers Wheel All I Wanna Do - Sheryl Crow These songs sound alike to me. Spot on! Until now, I never noticed. Now, whenever I hear Crow's song, I'll think of the torture scene in Resevoir dogs.
blind-fitter
"Eighties" - Killing Joke (1984) "Come As You Are" - Nirvana (1992) What a bunch of rip-off merchants....
Levis
"No More Heroes" - The Stranglers "Waking Up" - Elastica Oh wow!
blind-fitter
Crikey, if I could come up with youtube footage of the originals, you might be astonished how much plagiarism Elastica got up to. However, despite (or because of?) their blatantly ripping off many of my favourite bands- Wire (at least three times!), The Stranglers, The Undertones, to name but a few- I really liked Elastica. Sadly, they could be used as an advert for the damage heroin can do. What a criminal waste.
Farin
this one is probably only a coincidence, but I noticed it the very first time I listened to Bone Broke... Bone Broke ~ The White Stripes Monster ~ Beatsteaks
Earth-Angel
"Three Girl Rhumba" originally by Wire, but in the absence of youtubery of their version, have this cover by Mike Watt and The Missing Men (followed buy a version of Wire's "Ex-Lion Tamer") I like the Klonhertz version of that. The video is cute too
blind-fitter
Who is/are Klonhertz? He/she/they do Wire's "Three Girl Rhumba"? Found it on youtube: they spelt "rhumba" wrong, made it harder to find. This is the Wire song remixed. I would have posted this last night when I originally drew the comparison, had I known of its existence. Cool! Edited November 4, 2007 by Guest Found it! Jenny
To me, the opening of "1973" by James Blunt sounds like a slowed down version of the opening of "Under My Thumb" by the Stones.
