Brad_M Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Don't you mean Zooks was first with a correct question, so he wins the round? By only saying Zooks was correct, you make it sound like Archuleta and Spencer aren't correct answers.
cyberjudge Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Bazooka did have the first correct answer. Tracie Spencer would also have been correct, but David Archuleta would not since the clue said "long before 'American Idol'", which had already debuted by the time he won in 2003.
Brad_M Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 That's right. Archuleta wouldn't make the cut, he's too new. I don't remember either of the other two. I didn't watch much evening TV back then. A lot of good talent has been found because of these shows, though. Shows like that, I can watch, but not the so called reality shows which are mostly acting because they know the cameras are on and all of America is watching. That's not reality.
bazooka Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 [smaller]Johnny Be Bad for 600[/smaller] The rhythm guitarist of this US rock group purportedly left the band and abandoned a music career after being derided offhandedly by John Lennon.
bazooka Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 [smaller]big-league hint:[/smaller] Nicknamed "the American Hollies", the group's biggest hit bumped the Beatles out of the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
bazooka Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 No, Joe. Not The Cyrkle ([smaller]Their biggest, Red Rubber Ball, only made #2 [/smaller]).
edna Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) The Turtles? ("Happy Together") Edited August 24, 2011 by Guest
edna Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Then The Turtles, with "Happy Together" (I just edited my post)
bazooka Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Right, edna ! 'Who are The Turtles ?' is the correct response. Rhythm guitarist Jim "Tucko" Tucker left the band, after being publicly insulted by Lennon when The Turtles were in England on a promotional tour (see My Dinner With Jimi [big] *[/big] ).
