MindCrime
The Private Life of the Stars for $600 This generous artist once drove by a man who was repairing his fence (which was constantly broken by fans), on his shiny brand new truck. The man looked at him admiringly and said "I wish I could have a truck like yours! It is my dream", to which the musician replied "Do you have a buck?" "Yeah sure" the man gave him a buck. "Here. The truck is yours".

cyberjudge
FYI. By comparison, Lennon & McCartney had 30 songs penned by them hit the Hot 100 in 1964 (23 by the Beatles, 3 each by Billy J Kramer & the Dakotas and Peter & Gordon, and 1 by Cilla Black). edna
Who are Greenwich & Barry? Yes, you're right, Kenne! FYI. By comparison, Lennon & McCartney had 30 songs penned by them hit the Hot 100 in 1964 (23 by the Beatles, 3 each by Billy J Kramer & the Dakotas and Peter & Gordon, and 1 by Cilla Black). Very informative, cyberjudge. I suspected L&McC would have plenty of hits in 1964, the climax of Beatlemania... but in this case, I meant Barry&Greenwich... MindCrime
Bands in trouble for $400 This band was banned nearly everywhere in their home-country, so they started touring under the name SPOT. Bonus points if you can tell what that name is an acronym for.

c_s_1987
Who are the Sex Pistols? I believe it stands for Sex Pistols On Tour. I think they might have also used SPOTS, standing for Sex Pistols On Tour Secretly.

c_s_1987
Too slow. These two bands had albums released under a different title to the intended title due to misunderstandings. I only know of two bands that fit this. If you can think of any others, please show me evidence.
Farin
just so that I understand the question/answer correctly: the two bands, albums and misunderstandings aren't related in any way, right?
c_s_1987
That's right, the two bands/albums/misunderstandings are unrelated. There are some similarities, but in general they are completely unrelated.

c_s_1987
Those were all the titles the band/artist intended the albums to have, so they do not fit the question. In the cases I am referring to, the albums were released with a title that the band didn't want, and they were both released under a different title due to misunderstandings. A few small clues for now: - The albums I am thinking of were released in consecutive years. - One of the albums was given the title the band wanted when released in England (the band's home country), but was released under a different title in the USA. - The other album is by an American band, and was released worldwide with a "title" that the band had not intended it to have. - Both were successful and prolific bands, and both released more than ten studio albums. The Seeker
The Who's A Quick One was released as Happy Jack in the US because the original title was considered indecent... maybe this is one of the albums you're after?
