Ceilidh22539 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I need some help and I'm hoping you guys are the ones for the job. I was listening to the radio this morning and heard a song which sounded like a cover of Lonestar's - Not A Day Goes By, it was a young girl kind of a mandy moore-ish voice. I'm not positive that it was a cover but it had the words "Not a day goes by that I don't think of you" which is the same in Lonestar's song. Hope you guys can help!
Ceilidh22539 Posted July 6, 2004 Author Report Posted July 6, 2004 Wow nobody's answered yet... I have a bit more that might help. It's not a cover of Lonestar: it goes "Not a day goes by that I don't think of you, your angel eyes something something something." Yea not much help but maybe someone'll know what it is. There's another one I need help with too. There's this one hard rock song that goes: "Everything in my life seems so wrong wrong wrong." Sorry that's all I know. Hope someone can help.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 I can't find anything on your first song...it all comes up Lonestar. I haven't heard that song, but the lyrics are pretty. I think this might be your second song...kinda grim, huh? :: Wrong Motograter I hear voices deep within me Finding out I'm not so strong Sometimes I don't think so clearly Get the feeling something's wrong Wrong Got it wrong Always wrong Something's wrong Infectious, A scab unto the world Seems that my whole life's been a farce Wishing on the stars I'm just a poster for what we shouldn't be I'd put your whole world in a noose On the surface I seem normal Everything's as it should be Farther down though I'm so ugly Something you wont ever see Wrong Got it wrong Always wrong Something's wrong Infectious, A scab unto the world Seems that my whole life's been a farce Wishing on the stars I'm just a poster for what you shouldn't be I'd put the whole world in a noose Plagued with sickness Stained from inside out Lately I feel so healthy Get the feeling somehting's wrong Wrong Got it wrong Always wrong Something's wrong Infectious, A scab unto the world It seems that my whole life's been a farce Wishing on the stars You're just a poster for what I shouldn't be You'd put your whole world in a noose
Jakob Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 How about Vanessa Olivarez...? She was one of eight "American Idol" finalists. It's no surprise the guys from the states didn't know the song or could find anything: she released the CD single, "The One," written by Canadians and released only in Canada to become a best selling single. http://www.vanessaolivarez.org/ By the way: I know neither singer nor song - I was just eager to make my first helpful contribution! Hope this helps. Another by the way: I'm sitting in N.B. as well!!
Tenacious_Peaches Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Jakob, Good job! I went to the site and it previews the song...it's very pretty. I liked her on "American Idol". I wonder why they didn't release the song here. Here are the lyrics... The One Vanessa Olivarez I know that I'm supposed to be happy for you I wish that I could wish you well But I can't stop what my heart is thinkin' every night Now I'll have to keep it to myself What I'm feelin' I can't help A secret I can never tell Chorus Not a day goes by When I don't think of you And your angel eyes That I'm so drawn into If you'd say the word Into your arms I'd run Oh, I sure wish that I could be the one How could I have known she'd leave you breathless When I left you alone just for awhile Now she's the one who's become the centre of you life When you fell, you fell a thousand miles Chorus Not a day goes by When I don't think of you And your angel eyes That I'm so drawn into If you'd say the word Into your arms I'd run Oh, I sure wish that I could be the one Who in your eyes could do no wrong Who'd be with you your whole life long I can't believe my chance is gone Repeat Chorus Oh, I sure wish that I could be the one
Ceilidh22539 Posted July 8, 2004 Author Report Posted July 8, 2004 Lol Thank you so much Jakob and Tenacious Peaches! I finally downloaded it and it feels so nice not having it run through my head over and over and over... well you get the point! Ok the second that wasn't it Tenacious. It went "Everything in my life seems so wrong" and then he screams wrong over a few times... Lol
Sara Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Any chance this is it? Right Place, Wrong Time ~ The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion I was in the right place, but it must have been the wrong time I was sayin' the right things, but I must have used the wrong line I was on the right trip, but I must have used the wrong car Head is in a bad place and I wonder what it's good for I was in the right place, but it must have been the wrong time My head is in a bad place, but I'm havin' such a good time I've been runnin', tryin' to get hung up in my mind Really got to give myself a good talkin' to this time Just need a little brain salad surgery I got to cure my insecurity And I was in the wrong place, but it must have been the right time I was in the right place, but it must have been the wrong song I was in the right thing, but it seemed like a wrong wrong 'Cause I was in the right world, but it seemed like a wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong Slippin', dodgin', sneakin', peepin', hidin' out down the street See my life shakin' with every who I meet Refried confusion is a-makin' itself clear Wonder where to, where do I go to get on outta here 'Cause I was in the right place, but it must have been the wrong time And I was sayin' the right thing, but I must have used the wrong line I took the right road but I must have took a wrong turn I took a right move but I made it at the wrong time I was in the right trip but I made it in the wrong car My head is in a good place and I wonder what it's there for 'Cause my skull is in a bad place
Ceilidh22539 Posted July 14, 2004 Author Report Posted July 14, 2004 No that's not it, thanks anyway Sara... It was like heavy metal/hard rock, and it was newer it just played on the radio a few weeks ago
bazooka Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Oh Sara, Please give credit where credit is due. Right Time, Wrong Place was written and first recorded by Dr. John (Mac Rebennack). That song and Such A Night got a lot of airplay for the former voo-doo styled "Night Tripper" out of New Orleans. Dr. John is featured in The Band's Last Waltz concert movie. He will be performing with B.B. King next month locally (in Santa Rosa, CA). Emerson, Lake & Palmer titled an album "Brain Salad Surgery" from that strange phrase in Right Time, Wrong Place.
Ceilidh22539 Posted July 31, 2004 Author Report Posted July 31, 2004 I've got a new song for ya'll Lyrics include "I'm miserably happy" It just played on the radio this morning but I didn't catch the name. I know it's not much to go on but I'm hoping maybe someone'll know!
Jenny Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 I got a song called "Unzip" by ABC. Is that it?
XXX Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I got a song called "Unzip" by ABC. Is that it? Radio doesn't play ABC anymore except for one or two of their really popular songs.
RamonaMyers Posted November 14, 2019 Report Posted November 14, 2019 Yes yes yes. Her first name is Jessica or Vanessa, last name Oliveros or Ontiveros. She is Canadian. This song was very popular around 2004/2005. I lived very near the canadian border and could pick up the radio stations. It was never played on the US stations. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you And your angel eyes that I'm so drawn into If you'd say the words into your arms I would run Oh I sure wish that I could be the one. Something something something...but when you fell, you fell a thousand miles I LOVED that song but never heard it again after moving south in 2008. I have tried desperately to find it or the artist ever since to no avail. Good luck!
