OLD 55
I thought I'd have to call on the Michael Jackson Fan Club ! Although they'd be too young to have heard of James Cagney. Good on you Laurie. Nearly a clean sweep - 9/10. Thanks for supporting the Thread.

bazooka
2. Top Of The World - The Carpenters 7. Up, Up And Away - Fifth Dimension I think you have to be old and experienced to understand those I really thought the Jimmy Cagney clue referred to the line he used in White Heat as he went out in a blaze of glory. White Heat was produced in 1949 (the year I was born). I didn't see it until I was in my twenties. "Up, up and away" was Superman's notice on the radio program that he was about to take off and fly. On TV and in the movies, the announcement was not needed because you could see him. I have only vague memory of episodic radio programs, because television completely took over in the days of my early childhood.
OLD 55
Hi bazooka. I couldn't remember if George Reeves said it or not in the TV series, but I feel you're correct that it was only used in the Radio Series. The clue was going to be just "A super hero says this" but then I added "phrase", because it could have been the Duane Eddy Instrumental Hit "Shazam"/ Captain Marvel. I wondered what you meant by "Top Of The World". All the guys who did James Cagney impressions always used to say "you dirty rat", but James Cagney himself reckoned he never used those exact words in a Movie. Uncle Joe
Darryl, I believe the line that Cagney said was, "You're the dirty rat who killed my brother" or something to that effect.
OLD 55
Yes, Laurie said something like that too Joe. Funny how he finished up in gangster roles. Wasn't he best known as a song and dance man earlier in his career ? My favorite Movie of his was "Love Me Or Leave Me" with Doris Day. I still have the old 10 inch LP somewhere.
