Pink Floyd Lands Playboy Honor

The rock legends have been inducted into Playboy magazine's Hall of Fame.

Rock legends Pink Floyd have been inducted into Playboy magazine's Hall of Fame for their "unprecedented combined commercial and musical gravitas".

The British group leads the way in the newly-announced 2005 Music Awards, listed in the new March issue of the men's magazine.

Playboy calls the group "Godfathers of acid and prog rock, ambient music," adding the band is "so integral to the fabric of modern rock 'n' roll".

In the accompanying reader's poll, Foo Fighters, U2, Toby Keith, Gwen Stefani and Kanye West are all among the winners of top awards.

Best Hip-Hop Album - 'Late Registration' by Kanye West

Best Electronic Album - 'Demon Days' by Gorillaz

Best Country Album - 'Honkytonk University' by Toby Keith

Best Live Act - U2

Best World Music Album - 'The Trinity' by Sean Paul

Best Soundtrack Album - 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin'' by 50 Cent

Best Jazz Album - 'One Down, One Up: Live At The Half Note' by John Coltrane

Best Reissue - 'The Legend' by Johnny Cash

Best Song - 'Hollaback Girl' by Gwen Stefani

Best Breakout Artist - My Chemical Romance

Best Video Game Soundtrack - Tony Hawk's American Wasteland by Various Artists
