Skuff Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I still need a few**: Capitol Albums, Vol.1 Beatles Oldies Live at the bbc Let It Be.....NAKED Anthology DVD set* Yellow Submarine Songtrack *Not really a Album, I need it though! **I have all the ORIGINAL albums, except the americans
lonelyday Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I have no Beatle's albums, and neither do my parents. In fact my cd collection is pretty bare, I just have a mile long list to buy and no money to buy it with. I've decided I'm gonna have to get a job at a record store next year when I'm at uni, so that I can spend my spare money on cd's with what'll hopefully be a reasonable discount.
edna Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I have all the ORIGINAL albums, except the americans So you have all the albums, then. You still need the singles, EP´s compilations, sides B... The Past Masters Vol.I and II are part of what you need..
Skuff Posted February 3, 2006 Author Report Posted February 3, 2006 I have both of those! And Anthologys 1, 2,and 3.
edna Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 So I guess you have all their songs by now... The Yellow Submarine Soundtrack is also a compilation. If you like John Lennon (I see, you´re a fan of Sir Paul ) you might like The lost tapes, it´s a collection of some 20 or more albums with stuff he did by himself while rehearsing or just singing, playing... "Live at the BBC" is good too...
daslied Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I wouldn't get that Capitol box set. You're better off getting the original British versions, as the songs and order are different (meaning better on the Brit versions). But that's just me...
edna Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 That´s me too... I think it´s better to have the British ones. I hate it when a song is over and I´m waiting for the next one as I´ve heard it since the album was released, and I get another one instead...
daslied Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I suppose it really doesn't matter if you're not so familiar with the original versions, but the omission of songs kills me.
moneypenny131 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) For some reason I have pretty much everything but never seem to have bought Beatles for Sale and Help! I don't plan on getting the Capitol set, I've got most of the American versions on record and I don't have those red and blue sets on cd but probably won't get them. I've got the blue one on record, anyhow. I really want to start getting nice versions of the original records now but I'm broke, lol! I picked up all my Beatles records at flea markets for under $5 and most are pretty bad. Edited February 3, 2006 by Guest
edna Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 How comes this thread is in "Downloads" now?? I click and last post is by Seeker though it reads Daslied...
Earth-Angel Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I saw that too... there is no way I can fix it though. I don't know what happened there!
Skuff Posted February 5, 2006 Author Report Posted February 5, 2006 I'm assuming everybody has all of the Beatles Cds, Then. ***sigh***
katie_sane Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I don't have all their cd's! I do have just about everything they did on my computer. Even Beatle cartoons, Christmas messages, etc (got it all from my uncle - he's a Beatles fanatic). On cd I have Sgt. Pepper's and The White Album. On record I have Sgt. Pepper's and Beatles For Sale. I'd love to buy more of their cds. That Capitol Box Set wouldn't be bad at all!!
edna Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I have all the LPs (still the old copies, some of them are Mono...) and all the tapes for my walkman and the car, and all the cds to listen. A friend of mine is a fan and makes sure I have all their "new" stuff...
