:coolio: CONGRATULATIONS UNCLEJOE !

Ooh, I was thinking "Galveston" for the Texas song, BUT I didn't ask for the songs, so you're OK.

With "By The Time I Get To Phoenix", "Wichita Lineman" and "Galveston" JIM WEBB was the alternate answer.

That takes you and Katie to equal leaders. Laurie and Edna forgot to participate in Q3 (I'll go back and check that). I thought Laurie had it, but she said Glen Campbell as one of her answers for Q2.

Then I'll have to put on some New Questions. :)

O.K. NEW QUESTION 1

Elvis Presley received a very poor reception when he first performed at Las Vegas. However, he caught a few other Acts while he was there and he was impressed with a song he heard. He recorded it soon after and had a Big Hit with it.

What was the song ?

:coolio: THAT'S IT LAURIE ! PUTS YOU AND EDNA BACK IN THE LEAD!

Did you Google it ? (which is quite OK of course).

Elvis saw Freddie Bell And The Bellboys do a comedy version of the Big Mama Thornton song which had topped the R & B Charts almost 3 years before. The songwriters, Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller later wrote more Hits for Elvis.
