edna Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 They would go in jail in Europe... no kidding.
PSYCHOcatholic Posted October 22, 2005 Author Report Posted October 22, 2005 Many including me wish it were like that here. Nazi Parties and groups...gangs...hate groups such as the KKK, they are all allowed as long as they dont commit a crime. Hate Crimes are very serious here in the US, it becomes a federal case in front of a Grand Jury. It saddens me to know that though our world has changed so much...people have changed so little.
edna Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 You´re right... all I hope is it´s not trendy anymore to be a bad person...
Lambchop Flansburgh Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 When Jimi Hendrix played at Monterey, he announced that he was going to do the "combined English and American national anthem." Anybody remember what song he played? (a little mini-trivia quiz for y'all)
edna Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Wild thing? He started to shake and etc his guitar after that and finally burnt it.
bluesboy Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 That was my second choice Edna, I can't remember, it's been awhile since I listened to it.
edna Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I think I remember that was his last song at the Monterrey Festival... I just think... I haven´t seen that movie for decades though I had a video with part of his performance...

Anybody remember what song he played? (a little mini-trivia quiz for y'all) God Save The Queen/My Country Tis Of Thee?
invisible_r Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I thought it was forbiden... It´s against the law to be a nazi nowadays... I thought some austrian chancellor or something was a bit of a nazi and that was a huge issue a few years ago, no? am i making this up? also, you know there are still loads of pseudo-neo-nazi groups around, right? it's only happened to me once, and it was just words though...
edna Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I thought some austrian chancellor or something was a bit of a nazi and that was a huge issue a few years ago, no? am i making this up? No, you´re right, it was Kurt Waldheim, president or whatever of the UN. He was discovered by Simon Wiesenthal and I don´t know where he hides now, or maybe he´s dead...
Lambchop Flansburgh Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Yeah, it was Wild Thing, and he did burn his guitar at that show. There's this solo in that version of 'Wild Thing' that's taken from the song 'Strangers in the Night'. Very cool.
edna Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 A friend of mine told me he had the Jimi Hendrix Monterrey performance on a dvd... he´ll bring it home this weekend...
