RonJonSurfer Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 From 1969 - 1975, Three Dog Night had 21 hit singles including 11 in the top ten. Their music was played 24/7 on the radio and they packed concert halls. Using three lead singers, Chuck Negron, Dan Hutton and Cory Wells, Three Dog Night performed their rendition of songs by: Harry Nilsson, Laura Nyro, Randy Newman, Hoyt Axton, Russ Ballard (of Argent), Leo Sayer, Paul Williams and more. They covered hits by Lennon/McCartney, Neil Young, Robbie Robertson, Traffic, Dave Mason, Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Can you match these Three Dog Night hits with the composer? (One of these songs is from "Hair"). The Show Must Go On One Joy to The World Eli's Coming Easy To Be Hard Mama Told Me Not To Come Never Been To Spain Liar Just an Old Fashioned Love Song Three Dog Night were a classic rock sensation.
_jr_ Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 HAH!!! I know them all. But I cheated, of course, and looked them up. I'll keep quiet....for now.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 You, quiet? I just don't believe it.
RonJonSurfer Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 Then you noted the trick question...one of the composers wrote two of those songs....
Brad_M Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I don't know who the composer is but the song Easy To Be Hard is from "Hair".

Brad_M Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Hey, it's only been 6 hours and you gave the answers already. All that searching for nothing. I almost had them all.
RonJonSurfer Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 I knew you all had the answers, just confirming my research.
Uncle Joe Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 For the record, I knew 'em all, too. Who wrote Dreaming Isn't Good For You (Unless You Do The Things It Tells You To)?
RonJonSurfer Posted September 21, 2005 Author Report Posted September 21, 2005 That was actually a Three Dog Night original written by Danny Hutton.
Lucky Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 I knew 'em all too RonJon! I just want to one of the crwod!
Tenacious_Peaches Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 I cheated like a mofo and got all the answers, but that's no fun. Or ethical.
RonJonSurfer Posted September 21, 2005 Author Report Posted September 21, 2005 I cheated like a mofo and got all the answers, but that's no fun. Or ethical. Remember, it's only cheating if you get caught.
Sweet Jane 61 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I love Three Dog Night!! I just played Eli's Coming and on this day in 1969 they performed it on American Bandstand, and I remember watching that show. My Mom liked them so she was watching it with me. I saw them only once in concert and it was great!
