Batman Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 If your going for hard rock, Take at least one from Hendrix (haze, watchtower, or voodoo child) back in black, AC/DC either stairway, black dog, or dazed/confused from Zeppelin.
Tamuril1024 Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 Yeah I might put some Hendrix on there. I have AC/DC Back in Black. I mean older stuff Then Ac/Dc. LIke the Beatles and stuff like that. Thanks Hendrix and Led Zepplin. I think I might make two. I love Hendrix and Zepplin.
Costellogirl75 Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 How are you defining classics? 60's only? 70's only? Hard rock, rock, pop, etc? I would put a little Jefferson Airplane, maybe Somebody to Love or Volunteers. Then, some Cream, some Pink Floyd, some Zeppelin, AC/DC, then some Black Sabbath.
cindy17838 Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Stone's "Gimme Shelter" or "Sympathy for the Devil" Of course they have many other good songs, those are just my two favorites, but something by the Rolling Stones would have to be included.
MuzikTyme Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 I suggest Sugarloaf's Green Eyed Lady and Tony Joe White's Polk Salad Annie. Two songs that always get the beat and truly have a sound of those times.

_Jayson_ Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 I've heard that Jazz is the only music that originated in America. Would blues be considered a branch of jazz? or do you know where blues originated?
bluesboy Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 I've heard that Jazz is the only music that originated in America. Would blues be considered a branch of jazz? or do you know where blues originated? In a nutshell, blues mostly features simple 3-chord progressions. It grew out of African spirituals and worksongs of the Southern U.S. Blues is the forefather of Jazz. Jazz is like a son or nephew of the blues. Both originated here in the U.S.
Jimmy1104 Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Well....I would start with the song that is said to have set off Rock and Roll and that would be Rock Around the Clock. From there I would continue with: Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin Me and Booby McGee - Janis Joplin Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix Revolution - The Beatles We're An American Band - Grand Funk Railroad Freebird (live version) - Lynyrd Skynyrd Layla - Derek And The Dominoes Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Hotel California - The Eagles I would then finish off the CD with Queen's "The Show Must Go On".
