OLD 55
They are all mentioned in The Righteous Brothers song 'Rock And Roll Heaven'. DA DA! WELL DONE KATIE !! That was a toughle! 5 points to you, 2 to Kevin and 1 to Marc. "ROCK AND ROLL HEAVEN" (Chorus) If you believe in forever, Then life is just a one-night stand. If there's a rock and roll heaven, Well you know they've got a hell of a band, band, band. Jimi gave us rainbows, And Janis took a piece of our hearts, And Otis brought us all to the dock of a bay. Sing a song to light my fire, Remember Jim that way, They've all found another place, another place to play. (Chorus) Remember bad bad Leroy Brown, Hey Jimmy touched us with that song. Time won't change a friend we came to know. And Bobby gave us Mack the Knife, Well look out, he's back in town. They'll all be there together When they meet in one big show. (Chorus) There's a spotlight waiting No matter who you are Coz everybody's got a song to sing, Everyone's a star (Everybody's got to be a star). (Chorus, repeat and fade out)

OLD 55
Well I'm not sure what's going on. I made a post (I thought) that hasn't shown up and I've got a message that won't show either! Hi Dear Edna. Katie's skipped away, hasn't she? HERE'S TWO NEW QUESTIONS: QUESTION A: Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield/ Crosby,Stills, and Nash), Danny Hutton(Three Dog Night) and the late Harry Nilsson all have something - about Music - in common. What can it be? :: QUESTION B: Which Rock'N'Roll song was recorded by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Kinks? (Not all together - 3 separate versions). Goodnight and Good Luck all. :sleepy:

Addictedtoclassic
A. They all auditioned to be in the Monkees. B. Long Tall Sally I just looked up some info on the Monkees, and besides that bit of information, they had 400 people apply for the positions available within The Monkees. It's like a 60's version of American Idol...!? ::

OLD 55
A. They all auditioned to be in the Monkees. B. Long Tall Sally YOU'RE JUST NO FUN PEACHES! CONGRATULATIONS ON TWO GREAT ANSWERS You're now at the Top of the Table ! When I went to bed last night I thought "DID Elvis record 'Long Tall Sally' "? I knew he'd performed it on TV, and I thought I vaguely remembered it on one of his early Albums or EPs (45rpm Extended Plays - usually 4 tracks, for you youngsters). Anyway, it was definitely on his "Aloha From Hawaii" Album. It was also the Kinks debut single. Paul did a good job on it for the Beatles but NONE of them even came close to Little Richard. The Monkees auditions make fascinating reading. Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart were considered TOO GOOD (being professional musicians). They were signed to write and produce much of the Monkees early music. Also, it was rumoured that Charles Manson auditioned, but that story has been debunked. Kevin
Yeah, Paul( and perhaps, indirectly, the others in the Beatles). It had to do with the upcoming release of the Plastic Ono Band album and he was reponding to criticisms that he was destroying the Beatles. OLD 55
Hi jr and kevin. Sorry, not Paul (although I have no doubt that John would have called him that). Both of you might find my post in "Thread Of Lists" interesting? NOTHING to do with this question.
Kevin
Hmm ! How about the Maharishi ,then ? Brian Epstien had just died and they were returning quite bummed out. I think it was around then that John had become disillusioned with the fakir as he had said nothing reassuring to him and had acted scandalously.
