OLD 55
And when we first did these lists the songs had to have been a US or UK Hit, but I didn't stipulate that this time, I suppose. I didn't realise the Threads were so dead. What a shame - we used to have a lot of fun. Of course I'm retired so I have more spare time than most of you, but I think I'll take my leave from Songfacts once again. Thanks Brad and Kenne for trying to keep this Thread going. Brad_M
Hey Brad, this didn't get released until 1989, though it was originally recorded in 1950 by Sr, he never actually released it. Thanks, Kenne. That is correct. I was in a daze when I posted that, I guess. If you noticed, I didn't even look up the year for the song. I'm going to withdraw that entry and add a different one. That is correct, also, Darryl. I totally wasn't paying attention when I made that last entry. And not just any U.S. or UK Hit, if I remember correctly. It had to be a U.S. Hot 100 chart hit or a U.S. Singles Chart hit, since there are so many charts to try to follow. I'm withdrawing that entry and adding a new one that fits the criteria. I'm also withdrawing my #10 entry by Tom T. Hall and replacing it with a new one for the same reason. I'm making sure that both involve beer! :haveabeer:

OLD 55
Well done, Elena. But one at a time, please. Leave some for the others. Those 3 were all U.K. Hits, which qualifies them. NOTE: If you're not sure if a song was a Hit, you can go to the Home Page here on Songfacts, and there go to "browse by" for either Song or Artist listed alphabetically. If it's not there, please PT me as I have a record of all U.S. and U.K. Hits before 1980 - but I couldn't name a song from the 2010s I don't think ! Good grief Charlie Brown. Brad_M
Here's the site I use to find UK Top 40 hits. You can search by Artist or Song Title, different formats (song, album, EP), positions and time frames. There's also tabs for UK lists of Record Breakers, Chart Archives, Award Winners and #1 Singles and Albums. I find it very helpful. I hope others do, too. www.everyHit.com

I thought of 6 new ones to add to my list while Val and I were eating lunch and watching TV today, so it can't be that difficult. Val said " maybe they just don't like playing, or think like you do." Or maybe most are just so much younger than me and don't know lots of pre 1980s.
