Farin
"Sing in My Meadow" ~ Cowboy Junkies 8/10 I don't know them very well, but I was told that this album is quite different from their original style, at times it's almost drifting into Garage Rock spheres (The Dead Weather style) anyway, I enjoyed it. Batman
"Party" by Beyonce is the best made-for-radio pop song I've heard in a while. It sounds like it came straight from the days of the glossy 80s diva.
RockyRaccoon
"Metals"- Feist 4.5/5. Great album. Very dark sounding, cool string arrangements. Excellently done. "Graveyard"- Feist "Mylo Xyloto"- Coldplay 5/5. I know a lot of people here don't like Coldplay, but this album is great. I loved all of it. I haven't heard a bad Coldplay album yet. "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall"- Coldplay "Paradise"- Coldplay"
RockyRaccoon
"Night Of The Hunters"- Tori Amos 3.5/5. The idea is cool, taking classical pieces and using them as background and inspiration, but the album is just alright. "Job's Coffin"- Tori Amos "Vice Verses"- Switchfoot 4.5/5. Starts out slow but picks itself up in a big way, really good album. "Vice Verses"- Switchfoot "Selling The News"- Switchfoot
RockyRaccoon
Everyone forget about this thread? "Velociraptor!"- Kasabian 3.5/5. If Kasabian is good at anything, it's pumping out mediocre albums. This one has a few good spots but drew a collective "meh" from me. "Velociraptor!"- Kasabian "The Great Escape Artist"- Jane's Addiction 4.5/5. Jane's Addiction is back and they sound great. "End To The Lies"- Jane's Addiction "Balls Out"- Steel Panther 4/5. For a joke band, these guys are talented. If you can get past the vulgarity, it's a very funny album. "Weenie Ride"- Steel Panther "Bad As Me"- Tom Waits 5/5. Tom Waits doing what he does best, making great music. Loved this album. "Back In The Crowd"- Tom Waits "In The Pit Of The Stomach"- We Were Promised Jetpacks 4/5. Good old-fashioned indie rock. Great music. "Medicine"- We Were Promised Jetpacks
RockyRaccoon
"Prologue"- The Milk Carton Kids 5/5. This is everything great the folk music can be. Such a great album. And it's free from their website. "I Still Want A Little More"- The Milk Carton Kids

I think it is as good as, if not better than "Brothers".
Farin
a very interesting review I read (8/10), mentioned that it's actually not THAT "supermegaawesome" as is claimed everywhere, but that most this reviewer and probably most of his colleagues are so relieved that it didn't turn out as mainstream as they feared after "Brothers"

Farin
Here's what the Last.fm users have to say... Last.fm Best of 2011 not really surprising, but the New Discoveries and Year in Music are cool
TheLizard
Is Natalia Kills big outside of America? I've never heard of her and she's in the top ten. And she seems pretty terrible from the samples on last.fm. Like Lady Gaga but somehow worse. But yeah, those graphs on the year in music section are pretty cool. Well, she's #3 in the US charts too, but I don't know her either (of course that doesn't say much as I'm not really up to date with the newest pop sensations )
TheLizard
From what I can tell from the non-internet based charts, she's getting big in mainland Europe but still an unknown in the U.S. (outside of trendy people that use last.fm, I guess). Her debut single peaked at #10 on the Germany pop charts.
