Lea's Personal Top Ten

Recommended Posts

One thing to really like about Songfacts is how the site's members seem so tolerant and inclusive. From Janis to Lady Gaga, most here seem to at least show respect for the musicianship of performers and genres, even to those which we may not appreciate devoting listen time. This may be a key to how music brings us closer. One Songfactor has bridged a literal generation by successfully introducing her mother to this site. Now, she demonstrates her exclusive inclusivity with

Lea's Personal Top Ten

My first PTT mainly consisted of songs that were, and still are not only my favorites but remind me of something important that happened at some point in my life.

This list is quite different. Almost half of these songs I got the pleasure of hearing because of you guys. I tried to credit them to the people that brought them to my attention in the first place.

Thanks to the people that helped me with that. You know who you are. If you're not listed as introducing me to a new song/band, it's only because you and I have such similar tastes in music, we're listening to the same thing.

Most of the new stuff was introduced by our younger people. I think I have fallen in love with the Indie/alternative genre. If this kind of music we have to look forward to in the future, then I consider us very lucky.

Hope you guys like them. - Lea

Out of curiosity, why do you need our user name and post count along with our votes? Unless I didn't get a joke or something, which happens often I'm afraid.

No biggie, Pinkstones. I asked you all to include that info, knowing it appears automatically, as a part of the theme of inclusion that I adopted for Lea's PTT.

Heh heh .. yeah .. :/

Funny guy ...

Thanks for replacing your YouTube link, Lea. Totally my fault to not catch that. My browser has not transferred me to any link for the past 10 days, so I figured that the problem was in my computer, not your link. My bad.

I love you to death edna dear but you do know you voted twice right

I'm glad you listened to them :D

I am a little surprised "Teddybear's Picnic", hasn't gotten any votes yet. I love that version. It's so ominous

I wanted to explain why I added that song to the list. I had looked for that version for years and just happened to stumble across it on YT one day. I was so thrilled.

I had at one point, even ask for help finding that version here at SF if I remember correctly but had no luck. I think it was Farin that had suggested a link that would give me the soundtrack for the song but I still couldn't find it.

The song was played at the end of a documentary about street kids living on the streets of Seattle,WA. of course it was one of the saddest things I'd ever watched. It aired back in the 80's. The whole show was very upsetting to me.

I have heard the kiddie versions of this song as well so it just goes to show the incantations a song can evoke in some people.

Since my new cat was hauled off by the local wild life recently, every time I think of him this song pops in my head :P But I like the song very much even if it is gloomy ;)

I had forgotten about half of these songs. The Alice Cooper song was so left field it had me wondering, but it's a good one :beatnik:
