The Seeker Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Youtube have removed two of my videos due to copyright issues... is this happening to anyone else? In the past they told me who made the claim and what their conditions were (namely NOT removing the video, and just placing ads on the site). Now they're just all 'A copyright owner has claimed it owns some or all of the audio content in your video... so we've removed it'.
bluesboy Posted October 20, 2008 Author Report Posted October 20, 2008 Yeah, 3 of the ones I made did the same thing. All we're doing is promoting the artists music.
The Seeker Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Exactly... I get SO many messages from people telling me they only really discovered those bands through youtube, and how hard (and sometimes downright impossible) it is to actually buy the songs, even if you want to...
bluesboy Posted October 20, 2008 Author Report Posted October 20, 2008 My first criteria when deciding whether to make a youtube of a song is whether it's already on youtube.
The Seeker Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Yeah, same here... it's quite annoying when someone uploads a song that I uploaded already, so I'm not going to do the same thing to someone else.
bluesboy Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 Yeah, it's annoying in the opposite way those copyright third party owners of music recording artists won't allow youtube's of their music to listen, dig and enjoy. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Here's a very small tribute to the band War that's on the main page... City Country City
bluesboy Posted October 25, 2008 Author Report Posted October 25, 2008 Here's one from Popa Chubby from the mid '90s Sweat
bluesboy Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 Youtube have removed two of my videos due to copyright issues... is this happening to anyone else? Now they're just all 'A copyright owner has claimed it owns some or all of the audio content in your video... so we've removed it'. Yesterday, I made a youtube before work of Diana Krall off her '95 All For You tribute album to the Nat King Cole Trio... when I got home from work, they had already usurped control with third party content and rejected / blocked my video.
The Seeker Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I dunno what's up right now - in the past two days they've complained (but not removed, only placed ads) about videos I uploaded MONTHS ago. edit: apparently they even removed some of McCain's campaign videos Edited October 26, 2008 by Guest
bluesboy Posted November 3, 2008 Author Report Posted November 3, 2008 Here's a double entendre from the mid-forties. The Spinach Song ( I Didn't Like It the First Time) - Julia Lee

bluesboy Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 Here's some more fingerpickin' from Norman Blake, Tony Rice and Doc Watson - Salt Creek
Farin Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I decided I shouldn't let you have all the fun yourself Peaches & Cream it bugged me for ages that this (the album version) wasn't available on youtube
Farin Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Yesterday, I made a youtube before work of Diana Krall off her '95 All For You tribute album to the Nat King Cole Trio... when I got home from work, they had already usurped control with third party content and rejected / blocked my video. this can't happen to me with this one, since I went out of my way and got the permission from the copyright holder Eve ~ The Heavy Sandwich
Farin Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 it's not the official video just a teaser
The Seeker Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 They took one of my videos (Red Light Mama, Red Hot - Humble Pie) down because of "inappropriate content" And they didn't bother to tell me about it. I only noticed it looking through my videos.
Farin Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) after some technical difficulties: Flippin' Tha Bird ~ Ruby btw, if you ever come across their last.fm site. - that's not her on the pictures Edited November 8, 2008 by Guest clarifying
Lea Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) Farin, it tells me your video is no longer available Refresh fixed it No it didn't Edited November 8, 2008 by Guest
Farin Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 that happened to me too (that were the 'technical difficulties') in the moment it works for me, I dunno what could have caused that
Lea Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) After I finish listening to Moonlight Mile I'll give it another try YT is loading really slow for me today so I wonder if that might not be part of the problem. I used the URL link for Moonlight Mile and it wasn't a problem. If I try to use the regular links on other songs they either load really slow or not at all. I still get the same error message on your vid tho Edited November 8, 2008 by Guest
The Seeker Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Following a request from someone who liked one of my other videos, I posted a couple of songs from The Who's BBC Sessions. Here's one of them, I think I even prefer it to the album version: I'm Free -- The Who (live) If I told you what it takes to reach the highest high You'd laugh and say Nothing's that simple But you've been told many times before Messiah's pointed to the door No one had the guts to leave the temple
