Kevin
It's about a comic book dude , for godsakes : it ain't Shakespeare !
Foolonthehill
yeah, but it was pretty much non-stop action. the previous one had a bit more build.
TheLizard
A somewhat insane anti-hero, a fallen innocent, a maiden in distress, a wise confidant, a pure evil villain, a tragic ending... Pretty Shakespearian to me.
Kevin
Ehhh ... yeah , OK ... if you want to take a crap on Shakespeare , though . I'm sure he'd love Batman - after Richard III , where do you go , eh ? !
Ombre Vivante
This has maggie gylenhal in it. Therefore, it already sucks. The only mystery here is how much it sucks.
Ombre Vivante
A somewhat insane anti-hero, a fallen innocent, a maiden in distress, a wise confidant, a pure evil villain, a tragic ending... Pretty Shakespearian to me. Not really: no smart and witty dialogues (hell, no real structure to the way the dialogues are written), no characters that will last for hundreds of years (either heroes or villains). Also, to refer to Batman as an "anti-hero" is a bit of a stretch since he fights genuine bad guys. His actions don't make anyone think twice if what he's doing is "right" or "wrong." He's a good guy, really, and a boring one at that (according to Chris Nolan).
The Seeker
GREAT movie, eh? I agree... brilliant movie. Only I would've liked to see more of the Joker and less of that Harvey guy. (the bunch of teenagers next to me who kept licking their lips throughout the whole movie put a bit of a damper on my enjoyment of it too )
TheLizard
Actually, I liked Eckhart's Dent almost as much as Ledger's Joker.
The Seeker
I guess I just don't like most of those 'good guy falling from grace' stories. I felt there wasn't enough space for him.
TheLizard
I liked him because he was the only dynamic character, and despite the 180 in his personality, it was completely believable. At least, as believable as anything in the Batman universe.
The Seeker
I agree with that... I can't really put my finger on what bothered me about him being there. The Joker is a great character (it's become a bit of a cliche to say that, I know, but he is), and enough for one movie, I think. And maybe I should add that Dent bore an uncanny resemblance to my Maths teacher.

The Seeker
I nearly added "in the first half of the movie", but thought that'd be a bit too obvious
TheLizard
You never know. I had a math teacher that looked like Chris Cooper. A female math teacher.

MindCrime
I just saw this yesterday, I think Ledger could win a post-humous award for his role as the Joker. The rest of the movie was pretty average though. Yeah, Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance was pretty bad.
