poetrychick Posted July 4, 2008 Author Report Posted July 4, 2008 I think they might be canadian, but they sing Scottish music, if that is possible.
TheLizard Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 They're Canadian and they sing Celtic-ish folk rock. And yes BA, Ash is cool.
TheLizard Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I wasn't going to say anything... Poor country, completely devoid of music.
The Seeker Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Indeed. It really is a tough life up there... I have to walk there too. Railroads haven't reached there yet.
Farin Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 should we make a thread about great Scottish bands? I could name one or twelve
TheLizard Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I could probably name about 20 good Scottish artists off the top of my head. And the funny thing is, Great Big Sea isn't Scottish.
MuzikTyme Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Speaking of Scots . . . Shut it!!! Move the Head!
Farin Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I could probably name about 20 good Scottish artists off the top of my head. And the funny thing is, Great Big Sea isn't Scottish. Travis, Fratellis, Franz Ferdinand next one
poetrychick Posted July 5, 2008 Author Report Posted July 5, 2008 Ok everyone, so I'm a ditz, can we move on?
Levis Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Wait wait waiiiit The View okay, now we can move on
Ombre Vivante Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Travis, Fratellis, Franz Ferdinand next one Big Country is also from Scotland
poetrychick Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 Another awesome band: The Eagles. !ROCK ON!
Alayna Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Umm... I've never heard any songs by Flogging Molly and I've only heard one by Dropkick Murphys. My favorite bands are My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Linkin Park, Aiden, Brand New, Ludo, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, 3 Days Grace, Armor for Sleep, Thursday, etc. Many of those bands have songs where they scream; it's not scary, it's just another way for them to express themselves in their music.
Farin Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Umm... I've never heard any songs by Flogging Molly and I've only heard one by Dropkick Murphys. Devil's Dance Floor
Alayna Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I just downloaded Devil's Dance Floor, and I actually like it. It's different than the music I listen to, obviously, but it's still good. Thanks a billion, Farin!
Farin Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 ^ SF is a great place to find out music like that (that you like, but wouldn't normally listen to, I mean)
Alayna Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I know what you mean. Got anymore cool songs like that?
Farin Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 do you mean by Flogging Molly or in general? in the first case I'll let one of the real FM experts here suggest other songs
Alayna Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 By Flogging Molly or in general. I like finding music I wouldn't otherwise hear.
TheLizard Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Then I suggest you go search through the Get The Word Out section.
Farin Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 ... and pay attention to the videos we post all the time seriously, I'm sure everyone here could name you hundreds of songs you probably haven't heard before, since we don't know your taste very well yet, my best guess would be for you to just stick around - the rest comes naturally
