scott
Kickball They're totally awesome and totally unknown. I bet they'd do an interview. They're still in the "We are in awe of every scrap of publicity we receive" stage. myspace page= http://www.myspace.com/kickballl
Shawna
taking notes... thanks for the input, guys! I'll look 'em up and let you know if/when anything develops.
Shawna
I've sent out feelers to the publicists for: Okkervil River, Martin, I've finally gotten through to someone in their camp, who is following up with this for me. In fact, he's sending me their new CD. Hopefully I will be hearing something soon...

Shawna
Sia Furler--"Breathe Me" and a few others have received recognition. Our fearless leader (Carl) had elected to take this one, so when something comes of it, I'll let you know...
Shawna
Shawna, has this interview (with Broken Family Ban) happened? Just wondering .... B-F and Lucky... I sent them another follow-up, and no word. I'm thinking they have been swallowed up by the earth.
Shawna
how about "We are Scientists"? Farin - I'm scheduled to talk with Keith tomorrow at 2 p.m. PST. Any particular questions you'd like asked?
Farin
woohoo I don't have many questions though I would like to know how they got to their name - even wikipedia doesn't have any good explanation for that... oh, and you could ask them what inspired them to do the song "After Hours"... I think Keith ones said it's about "death"? woohoo again
Levis
You could ask them how they thought of covering Hoppipola by sigur ros and if they had any professional help with the pronunciation of lyrics
Farin
oh, I didn't even know they covered that
Shawna
I am listening to that song as I type this. It's beautiful. But I don't eve know how to pronounce sigur ros, or hippipola.
Farin
I would say "seegure ross" ('gure' like 'sure') and "hop-ee-polla" (I think that means 'jumping through puddles')

Shawna
Keith was right in the middle of explaining to me how they came up with their band name, and the call was dropped. I'm hoping I'll get a call back from his rep here pretty quick...

Shawna
things are coming together with these suggestions, people! Remember I said it takes time... I was able to finish up my interview with Keith Murray (We Are Scientists), and now, thanks to some recon work by my beloved Blind-Fitter, I have scheduled Steve (the Broken Family Band) for Sunday. Seems their e-mail has been the recipient of hundreds of spam mails a day, and my e-mails had been erroneously relegated to the bucket. Upcoming is Okkervil River... TBA... Farin
woohoo just one thing, from the headlines: "Here, lead singer Keith Murray talks about Letterman, the unique band name that causes foreheads to wrinkle, and the finer points of ignoring what's right in front of his eyes." my first thought was: since when are they named "Letterman"? Levis
Maybe change it to 'David Letterman' and remove the italics?
Shawna
yeah... the show is actually "The Late Show with David Letterman," so I can see the confusion. I will tell the Big Guy it needs fixing for you foreigner types who don't know who *gasp* David Letterman is! :horrified graemlin:
