  1. This just happened last night. I virtually met Rush. My mom sent them a not about how my sister passed away in May in a car accident and how they were an inspiration to me. Thier manager came up to my seats at the Tweeter Center in the last section and said that the band gave us VIP front row seats. In addition to a signed picture of them, a postcard, 2 shirts, a Geddy and Alex pick both signed, Niel's used drumsticks also signed, a keychain, a flashing body pin and a poster. And the picture of the band says "Good luck Michael" and thier signatures.
  2. This is my second song, also written for Jenny. This is also copyrighted like everything I've written and cannot be copied and pasted without my written permission. One Summer Evening (Written January 7, 2004 by Mike R. Smale © 2004) The suns going down behind the trees, the air is lightened by a warm breeze. (One summer evening) Childrens laughter in a neighboring yard, a little reminder that lifes not really hard. (One summer evening) It was one summer evening, when I found you in my heart. One summer evening, when I knew we couldnt part. It was one summer evening, when I realized, that I love you. The nights coming on and the worlds falling asleep, (One summer evening) But my hearts wide-awake, for my feelings are just too deep. (One summer evening) How I wish that I could tell you, everything I feel right now, But every time I get the chance, I just dont know how. It was one summer evening, when I found you in my heart. One summer evening, when I knew we couldnt part. It was one summer evening, when I realized, that I love you.
  3. Of course I'm a musician, my band and I are going to start playing clubs and such this coming June of 2005. I play: Bass Guitar *(no it's not easier than guitar; the thicker strings mean you have to fret harder, and the larger frets mean you have to move your hand move often to reach new notes)* Keyboard/Piano Electric/Acoustic Guitar Flute (rental for school, I don't have it anymore) Autoharp Harmonica Voacalist
  4. I met Wierd Al Yankovich after one of his concerts last summer in New Hampshire.
  5. It does have music, mostly on piano. The drums are light and the guitar is acoustic and only playing chords in the chorus for rythym.
  6. This is my first song, written for my friend Jenny. It was published in a book of poetry recently too, and it can't be copy and pasted without my written permission. A Waltz Through the Winter Snow (Written November 10, 2003 by Mike R. Smale © 2004) Snowflakes are falling, all around me, in the air, outside. You look so beautiful, and my feelings for you, I cannot hide any longer. Lets take a waltz, through the winter snow. Dancing under the Christmas lights soft glow. Only you and me, without another living soul, through the winter snow. The cold wind blows, throughout this evening world. But the fire in our hearts, is burning so hot, that no world of ice can freeze. As we glide through the night in a romantic bliss. We stop, and share one, single kiss. Lets take a waltz, through the winter snow. Dancing under the Christmas lights soft glow. Only you and me, without another living soul, through the winter snow.
  7. That's nothing. I had to learn the moves for my 3rd grade music class.
  8. Any band who plays rap, hip-hop, country (with my only exception of Kenny Rogers), disco, grundge rock and modern rock are awful in my opinion. Modern rock all sounds the same, the guy moans in the begginning and sings just like he does in all the other songs that he did and other bands did with the same guitar, drum and bass lines. It's so monotenouse. And U2 rocks, I noticed they were on the list.
  9. The Divine Comedy is horribly underrated. I don't even know one person who knows who they are! I first saw them on Wired on the Celtic channel and bought an album righ away and they rock. And that's a lot for me to say since I don't really like modern music yet they are a well known (in Ireland) chamber pop band.
  10. Definitely Rush, I'm even seeing them this Thursday.
  11. I don't know any modern bands at all, and my kids won't be talking about them I know that since I like the old stuff as does everyone I know. My band may be around if we get known, and once we decide on a name, since we're now thinking of just going by my name and not a band name. But back to the topic. The way most bands now make one album with one hit song that gets into a movie so everyone knows it then can't stand it after it's overrated, I don't think any bands will be talked about in the next two decades, unless they start making new albums with new hits that dont' all sound the same to thier old stuff or other artists songs.
  12. The '90s and today are the worst. I loved everything from 1900 to 1989 (I love jazz, early blues and all that stuff). Then it stopped. Bands that continued into the '90s like U2 and Rush still rock, but the new stuff..ak.
  13. You've said almost all of the one's I have to say are the best, but here's my list with some of the same and a lot of my own. Don Henley Bono Billy Joel Geddy Lee Steve Perry Robin Zander Phil Collins Peter Gabrial Niel Hannon (of Divine Comedy, an Irish chamber pop band, he has such a low and melodic voice) Jon Bon Jovi
