  1. LOL, they'd have to give you an additional 2 minutes back that you just wasted, I never thought much of the early Police, even if it was innovative to the Alternative/New Wave genre.
  2. From each album (or most of them) Piper at the Gates of Dawn - The Scarecrow Saucerful of Secrets - Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun Ummagumma - Astronomy Domine Atom Heart Mother - Atom Heart Mother Relics - See Emily Play Meddle - One of These Days DSotM - Brain Damage/Eclipse WYWH - Wish You Were Here Animals - Dogs The Wall - Comfortably Numb (2nd-Waiting for the Worms) Final Cut - Your Possible Pasts MLoR - On the Turning Away Division Bell - Take it Back Pulse - Time (live)
  3. I'm pretty familiar with their story, but it would still be interesting to see on TV, especially VH1, since they haven't played anything worth a crap in I don't know how long. Did they cover the early 80's era, when Axl made his way to L.A.?
  4. Was this on VH1, I thought they stopped playing Behind the Music, I would love to see one on GnR. Which band members did they interview, or was it mostly managers & roadies, etc. ?
  5. They should come up with a longer list, here's a few that they forgot: John Petrucci - Dream Theatre Don Felder/Joe Walsh - Eagles Slash - Guns N' Roses Martin Barre - Jethro Tull Eric Johnson Ace Frehley - Kiss Allen Collins/Gary Rossington - Lynyrd Skynyrd Yngwie Malmsteen Ted Nugent Zakk Wylde - Ozzy, various Dimebag Darrel - Pantera Mike McCready - Pearl Jam Alex Lifeson - Rush Joe Satriani Elliott Randal/Larry Carlton - Steely Dan Steve Vai Billy Gibbons - ZZTop :guitar:
  6. I can't believe I didn't realize Slash wasn't included, it's funny which ones they list over him too. Really? Is it Music Videos or Live performances? I have most of their music videos on tape except for Yesterdays & Garden of Eden & a couple others I think. Can this DVD be found on ebay or anywhere on the net?
  7. I've seen this cartoon a few times, it comes on Cartoon Network at Midnight here in the West Coast. Personally, I think it's an annoying comedy, some funny parts, but can be really lame at times. The Fryhead is the only one with any sense, the Shake can be funny at times, so is the neighbor, and that meatwad is very annoying, especially his voice.
  8. It's a solid list, they named most of the great guitarists, but in general I never really agree with Rolling Stones list making, their Top albums & top song lists were bad enough, & if you think Rolling Stone is the absolute worst, try Spin's opinions of the greatest. Uhm?... how about ... NO They have some excellent guitarists underrated Joe Perry is not better than Eddie Van Halen Most of what was listed before Gilmour is false IMO They fail to give any credit to the Eagles I could nit-pick on this list all day long, if I had the time Early-day Kirk Hammett is talented enough for his placing, but I guess that's all a reflection of my opinion, not to conflict with yours.
  9. Favorites: John Paul Jones Roger Waters Cliff Burton Paul McCartney Bill Wyman Geddy Lee John Entwhistle A few other talents: James Jamerson Chris Squire Bernard Edwards Donald Dunn Jack Bruce
  10. That's all it is anymore, commercial propaganda. The record industry had to take a major slash on compact disc prices, because of the lack in recent sales, what they don't realize is, that they should be trying to market talented musicians, instead of the quick burn fad artists. I'm not saying all music today is bad, there are some good bands out there, but they don't get much radio airplay.
  11. Don Felder Dickey Betts Allen Collins Ritchie Blackmore Jerry Cantrell Kirk Hammet Dimebag Darrel
  12. Other: David J. Gilmour - many at first accused him of ripping off Barrett's guitar style, but actually he was the one who taught Syd. His work on Comfortably Numb, Time, On the Turning Away, etc. is far better than most others I've heard. :guitar: Out of that poll, I would go with Hendrix for the obvious reasons, Page is another good one, but if you listen closely to certain songs, like Heartbreaker, he tends to make mistakes during a solo.
  13. After reading that comment, I now have "Sending out an SOS, Sending out an SOS" repeating in my head. First time I've ever gotten a song stuck in my head, just by reading about it. I can't think of any off hand, but I know I've heard these songs on many occasions.
  14. They're at Hullapalooza & Peter Frampton's guitar is talking, then Otto looks down & says "Man, my shoes are talking" Lou: Lets see your license, pal! Otto: No can-do, never got one. But if you need proof of my identity I wrote my name on my underwear. Oh wait, these aren't mine!
  15. Doors : Light My Fire - kinda drags in the middle with the organ Rush : Roll the Bones - the part near the end, when he almost raps in it U2 : One - the high notes towards the end of the song Various songs - When the lead singer opens his big mouth at the beginning There's many more, but I can't think of them right off hand
  16. Apu: These hot dogs have been sitting here for 3 years, there's only one bozo who comes in & buys them Homer: but I eat... oh Homer! you are asleep at your post, now go change the expiration dates on the dairy products He slept, he stole, he was rude to the customers, still there goes the best damn employee a convenient store ever had.
  17. It's hard to choose between most of their albums. To me their undisputed masterpiece is Physical Graffiti, but most others would disagree. I think II had the best quantity of songs, yet IV had the best quality. I wounded up voting for Houses of the Holy, to help it in the ratings.
  18. Most of my music, I own on CD from some time ago, but for today's music, when they can start making CD's that have more than 2 good songs on them, then yeah I'll start paying for my music again.
  19. I would say Mellow Gold, it was under producted, but had a few good songs, like Beercan & Blackhole.
  20. Audioslave, mostly because I like Soundgarden, & they're not too far off, somewhat different, but any band Cornell chooses, it's going to be pretty good.
  21. If they don't star Harrison Ford, the Indiana Jones movie is going to be a joke, do you remember "Adventures of Young Indiana Jones"?? They should've stopped before the first Sandlot movie was made, those were pretty awful. Exorcist had 2 sequels already, & they were both labeled as flops, they did nothing to spark the horror of the original. Terminator needs to wait another decade, like the previous sequels intervals in order to work, besides it's going to be hard to cast Arnie after his political term.
  22. Who hasn't seen Eraserhead or Pink Flamingos? Classic movies though, another good one is Lost Highway which was done by David Lynch, who directed & wrote Eraserhead.
  23. I've been trying to figure this one out for a while now ::
  24. What is your favorite word? antidisestablishmentarianism What is your least favorite word? frugal (I've always hated that word) What turns you on? I can't say it on this site What turns you off? I don't think I can say that one either on here, heh What is the sound or noise that you love? My car's engine What sound or noise do you hate? Just about any other sound coming from my car's parts What is your favorite curse word? C**k smoker What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? Music critic - I could listen to music all day and get paid for it I agree with Tenacious on this one What profession would you not like to participate in? The guy who test tastes kitty litter If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? I'm positive it'll be something like: Sit Down, We Need To Have A Talk
  25. Is there a limit on how many private messages / read receipts you can store in your memo box? I usually don't delete these.
