Bob Marley is another good one, most of his work up until Exodus, but the best IMO is Soul Rebels.
-
some good songs are Pull Me Under & Metropolis, if you can find those, they're good recommendations
-
Tybalt, I've seen most of those movies & I agree they're out of the ordinary & a must see for anybody who likes theatrical yet obscure movie plots.

I think you summed it up just about right with that, but I live in a major city so there's your typical metro lifestyle, other than being too hot & filled with desert & mountain ranges everywhere. Being from the midwest originally, it takes a while to regulate to any other region in the United States, but that's what makes this country so unique from the others, is it's diversity of provincial divisions.

Help! Trying to find the artist of this song!!!
MindCrime replied to farrowlani's topic in Questions and Answers
It's by Josh Kelley & the song is called Everybody Wants You Lyrics: You've been bad You know you've been good Did you lose your mind, like I knew you would Did you sing your song Did you sing it so loud Did you sing it so everyone can hear in the crowd Did you lose yourself Did you lose your health Did you put my memories on the shelf Did you lose your place Did you lose your grace Just so everyone could see your singing face Its like everybody loves you and everybody wants you lately Its like everybody needs you and everybody sees you today You've been sad Your misunderstood Did you find your kind, Like i knew you would Did you feel your song Did you feel it so real Did you feel it so everyone could see your grand appeal Did you lose yourself Did you lose your health Did you put my memories on the shelf Did you lose your place Did you lose your grace Just so everyone could see your singing face Its like everybody loves you and everybody wants you lately Its like everybody needs you and everybody sees you today Today If they would let me show For the time we love Time will say, Keep the fun alive and lead the way to our today Did you lose yourself Did you lose your health Did you put my memories on the shelf Did you lose your place Did you lose your grace Just so everyone could see your singing face Its like everybody loves you and everybody wants you lately Its like everybody needs you and everybody sees you today Its like everybody loves you and everybody wants you lately Its like everybody needs you and everybody sees you today Today -

There's a lifestyle here?? I sure would like to know what it's about, as long as it doesn't involve heatwaves & being stranded in the desert.

Hey Batman, if you love reading lists (which I do too, if they're official enough) then check out the GuitarWorld's 100 Greatest Solo's list. I posted it at the very bottom of This Thread & can also be found in more detail at This Site

That's all a part of what made it such a classic, & gave the song it's distinction. The song would be much different without the lengthy adapted intro.
-
LOL, they'd have to give you an additional 2 minutes back that you just wasted, I never thought much of the early Police, even if it was innovative to the Alternative/New Wave genre.

I'm pretty familiar with their story, but it would still be interesting to see on TV, especially VH1, since they haven't played anything worth a crap in I don't know how long. Did they cover the early 80's era, when Axl made his way to L.A.?
-
Was this on VH1, I thought they stopped playing Behind the Music, I would love to see one on GnR. Which band members did they interview, or was it mostly managers & roadies, etc. ?
-
They should come up with a longer list, here's a few that they forgot: John Petrucci - Dream Theatre Don Felder/Joe Walsh - Eagles Slash - Guns N' Roses Martin Barre - Jethro Tull Eric Johnson Ace Frehley - Kiss Allen Collins/Gary Rossington - Lynyrd Skynyrd Yngwie Malmsteen Ted Nugent Zakk Wylde - Ozzy, various Dimebag Darrel - Pantera Mike McCready - Pearl Jam Alex Lifeson - Rush Joe Satriani Elliott Randal/Larry Carlton - Steely Dan Steve Vai Billy Gibbons - ZZTop :guitar:

I can't believe I didn't realize Slash wasn't included, it's funny which ones they list over him too. Really? Is it Music Videos or Live performances? I have most of their music videos on tape except for Yesterdays & Garden of Eden & a couple others I think. Can this DVD be found on ebay or anywhere on the net?

how do the aqua teen hunger force lyrics go???

I've seen this cartoon a few times, it comes on Cartoon Network at Midnight here in the West Coast. Personally, I think it's an annoying comedy, some funny parts, but can be really lame at times. The Fryhead is the only one with any sense, the Shake can be funny at times, so is the neighbor, and that meatwad is very annoying, especially his voice. -
It's a solid list, they named most of the great guitarists, but in general I never really agree with Rolling Stones list making, their Top albums & top song lists were bad enough, & if you think Rolling Stone is the absolute worst, try Spin's opinions of the greatest. Uhm?... how about ... NO They have some excellent guitarists underrated Joe Perry is not better than Eddie Van Halen Most of what was listed before Gilmour is false IMO They fail to give any credit to the Eagles I could nit-pick on this list all day long, if I had the time Early-day Kirk Hammett is talented enough for his placing, but I guess that's all a reflection of my opinion, not to conflict with yours.

Favorites: John Paul Jones Roger Waters Cliff Burton Paul McCartney Bill Wyman Geddy Lee John Entwhistle A few other talents: James Jamerson Chris Squire Bernard Edwards Donald Dunn Jack Bruce

That's all it is anymore, commercial propaganda. The record industry had to take a major slash on compact disc prices, because of the lack in recent sales, what they don't realize is, that they should be trying to market talented musicians, instead of the quick burn fad artists. I'm not saying all music today is bad, there are some good bands out there, but they don't get much radio airplay.

Don Felder Dickey Betts Allen Collins Ritchie Blackmore Jerry Cantrell Kirk Hammet Dimebag Darrel

Other: David J. Gilmour - many at first accused him of ripping off Barrett's guitar style, but actually he was the one who taught Syd. His work on Comfortably Numb, Time, On the Turning Away, etc. is far better than most others I've heard. :guitar: Out of that poll, I would go with Hendrix for the obvious reasons, Page is another good one, but if you listen closely to certain songs, like Heartbreaker, he tends to make mistakes during a solo.

After reading that comment, I now have "Sending out an SOS, Sending out an SOS" repeating in my head. First time I've ever gotten a song stuck in my head, just by reading about it. I can't think of any off hand, but I know I've heard these songs on many occasions.
-
They're at Hullapalooza & Peter Frampton's guitar is talking, then Otto looks down & says "Man, my shoes are talking" Lou: Lets see your license, pal! Otto: No can-do, never got one. But if you need proof of my identity I wrote my name on my underwear. Oh wait, these aren't mine!

Doors : Light My Fire - kinda drags in the middle with the organ Rush : Roll the Bones - the part near the end, when he almost raps in it U2 : One - the high notes towards the end of the song Various songs - When the lead singer opens his big mouth at the beginning There's many more, but I can't think of them right off hand
