  1. That was a hard quiz. I'm kicking myself for saying Men At Work for #4. The new one is even harder ::
  2. For quotable skits, some of the best involve Will Ferrell. Two of my favorites are the one with Will and the Rock as Neil Diamond and Bigfoot recording an album. And of course every one around here seems to love the Blue Oyster Cult Behind the Music Skit. You can look up SNL on the Internet Movie Data Base; they have a quotes section. Some classic SNL quotes: Jane, you ignorant slut I'm Gumby Damn It Well, isn't that special Yeah, that's the ticket We are two wild and crazy guys I could go on and on and on....
  3. I have many, but one that stands out is Mickey by Toni Basil. Just try to get that one out of your head!
  4. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WINDY! GOT YOU ON MY MIIIIIIND! From me, and Little River Band :happybanana: and the dancing banana
  5. Peaches, you are the queen of my universe! Tapestry will forever be one of my favorite albums of all time ever. I recommend Gold by the love of my life, Ryan Adams. Gold came out in 2001 shortly before September 11 and its single New York New York quickly became a rallying anthem, though the song is about Ryan (yet again) leaving behind a girlfriend and moving on. Most of the songs are mellow and abound with simple guitars, harmonica, and maybe a little banjo (the funnest of all instruments). Some of my favorites are New York New York, Firecracker, Answering Bell, Some How Some Day, Wild Flowers, and Harder Now That It's Over. When the Stars Go Blue (covered wonderfully by The Corrs and Bono) is a beautiful, heartbreaking song. If you like Wilco and other alt-country, you'll like Gold.
  6. Does any one know if SF is going to have the Easter Egg Hunt they had last year? It was really fun, kind of similar to our guess the song game.
  7. Chris Isaak-Baby Did A bad, Bad Thing R.E.M.-Tongue and Suspicion Roberta Flack-The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Killing Me Softly With His Song Gladys Knight-The Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me Mr. Costello-Almost Blue (maybe I just think that's sexy cause it's Mr. Costello )
  8. I always listen to the Clash, London Calling when I am angry, but that is more of a political anger, rather than good old I f-in' hate everybody anger.
  9. Edna, Frank's version of Leavin' On A jet Plane is pretty unique. I would love to hear Sarah McLachlan cover Peter Gabriel's "Salsbury Hill" and ""In Your Eyes", as well as her take on Simply Red's "Holding Back the Years."
  10. Styx' "Sailing," preferably sung by Eric Cartman Nitty Gritty Dirt Band "Fishing in the Dark"
  11. Ryan Adams covering Tangled Up In Blue and Alison. Foxy I agree with you on Rod and Hard Luck Woman!
  12. I love Cher. I really do. No, I am not a drag queen. I love the thought of going to bed very soon under sheets just warm from the dryer and sleeping late tomorrow. I love the word monkey. I love pop tarts. I love my girl Tenacious "Flarna" Peaches. MONKEY MONKEY MONKEY
  13. True, jr. and I think Brian Jones did too. Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys drowned while surfing, Pete Hamm and Tom Evans of Badfinger both shot themselves, and 70s soul singer Donny Hathaway jumped to his death.
  14. addicted, by members I meant not all members. If I had written The members of L.S., I would have meant all members. Edna, I've never heard Emmylou was in on the heist too. Has any one heard that Ronnie Van Zandt was supposedly buried in a Neil Young T-shirt in homage to their feud/friendship? Supposedly some idiots dug up his corpse to see if the story was true.
  15. Lynrd Skynrd's members died in a plane crash and apparently Jimi choked on his own vomit while sleeping. Some other notable rock star deaths include Janis Joplin, who O'D on heroin and Gram Parsons, who binged on alcohol and drugs, but what happened after Gram's death is certainly more interesting than the death itself.
  16. I'm a little skeptical of any one trying to sing Janis, but Joss Stone was amazing with her rendition of "Cry Baby"
  17. The Pretenders: Brass in Pocket The Clash: Janie Jones The Ramones: Sheena is a Punk Rocker Three Dog Night: Shambala
  18. "She torched Neil? BA BA BA BA BA BA BA BA!" -Saving Silverman "L-lllook at me! I-I'm the w-w-w-ater boy! DERRRR!" -The Water Boy "That was your girlfriend. She was actin' all hooteriffic" -Big Daddy "My father would make outrrageous claims like he invented the question mark." and "In the summer we would make meat helmets. Pretty standard stuff, really." -Austin Powers, I M o M "No Mini Me, we don't gnaw on our kitty!" -Austin Powers, T S W S M "Do you enjoy knives?" -Harold and Maude "Harold loves Maude. Maude loves Harold." -Harold and Maude And from one of the most quotable movies ever, Napoleon Dynamite: "Oh Napoleon, make yourself a dang quesa-dillah!" "I love the way your sandy hair floats in the air. To me it's like a lullaby and I'm just flying by oh so high like a kite, tied to a stake." "I don't know, build her a cake or something." " Boyfriend ?" "Napoleon's my nephew!" "Your mom goes to college." "Napoleon, like any one can even know that" "I caught you a delicious bass."
