  1. Plenty in my teens that I'm too embarassed to mention.
  2. Thanks, Shawna. It's a good thing that I'm not concerned with rhyming, because that word would've been 86'ed quickly...
  3. Gotta be Nazareth then, of "Love Hurts" fame. That's about what I thought they'd look like.
  4. Untitled at the moment; still working the song out... She lets me down So gently that it doesn’t hurt Until she’s returned To pick me up again She leaves me with Sentimental regret That doesn’t bite Until I’ve let it go Such a lovely heartache She brushes me away But keeps me close enough To reach for my hand For safety or admonishment She’ll never say if She hated that I wanted her Or perhaps Loved that I turned her on Such a lovely heartache Such a lovely heartache Such a lovely heartache Please let it stop.

He is pretty sexy. And I'd watch that other thing you said. Sweet, sweet Hurley.

I personally have a big boy crush on Kate, and my wife lusts for Sayid. She obviously likes dark, strapping men.
  7. That's the ugliest collection of bastards I've seen today.
  8. This is the song that really got me hooked on them. I had always known the early stuff, through my mom. She is a lifelong fan, but mainly of the pre-Sgt. Pepper stuff. One day I decided to just buy The White Album, and nearly sh*t myself. I couldn't believe (and still can't) what an amzaing album it is.
  9. Being that he was a session musician, he most likely won't be listed on the credits. Especially 40 years ago; I don't know that people fought for session credits like they do today. And, like I said, "So the rumour goes." Here's what the producer of the album, Shel Talmy, said, and a comment from Ritchie Blackmore: There seems to be Kontroversy as to who played guitar on You Really Got Me. Since in 1964, effects were still in their infancy, apparently the amp speakers were tampered with to create the overdriven, fuzzy rhythm guitar effect. Here are producer Shel Talmy's comments... Quote: Q: How did some of the groups you produced react to having sessionmen on their recordings? There's been a big controversy over whether Jimmy Page played solos on Kinks records, for example. A: You know how many times I've answered that question? I wish I had a buck for each one. Jimmy Page did not play the solo on "You Really Got Me," he played rhythm guitar. He never played anything but rhythm guitar on that plus [the Kinks'] first album session. On "You Really Got Me," the Kinks had just added Mick [Avory], and I used Bobby Graham on drums. He played rhythm guitar because at the time Ray would not play rhythm guitar, he didn't think he was good enough. So I said, fine, let me get a rhythm guitarist, 'cause Dave [Davies] was playing the leads. We had Jon Lord (1) on organ. (1) From a Richie Blackmore interview... Quote: But "You Really Got Me," by the Kinks was Jimmy Page because Jon Lord, our organ player, played piano on that session and Dave Davies was nowhere to been seen.
  10. Roxanne - The Police Woops! Didn't see it was mentioned already.
  11. John Lennon. Someone else can take my turn if they want. Marc was close! I find it hard to locate pictures of just famous guitars, and I'm lazy.
  12. Well, John didn't/doesn't own any of those classic CCR songs. When he came out with "The Old Man Down The Road" in the 80's he was sued by the guy who owned the rights to the older stuff. I believe he said that it ripped off "Run Through The Jungle". It went to court, and John won after an in-court display with a guitar. Awesome.
  13. I love her entire range...maybe it's the accent? Agreed that the new song (Unplayed Piano) kind of sucks, but from what I've read it was just a quick throwaway for charity. Maybe he'll actually do another album in the next 5 years...
  14. Dylan is correct. Very good, Edna - I thought that one might take some time, being as vague as it is.
  15. I have to add, even though her output is scant, Lisa Hannigan. She's the female vocal on all of Damien Rice's stuff. If I could marry an intangible, it'd be the bridge of "The Blower's Daughter". Wharf.
  16. He also played guitar on Joe Cocker's "With A Little Help From My Friends". He and John Paul Jones were both much demanded session players before Jimmy put Zeppelin together. John Paul is definitely the unsung hero of that group.
  17. Did you know that Jimmy Page is the guitar player on "You Really Got Me"? So the legend goes...
  18. I think he actually copped it from Chuck Berry, like everyone else in the early days of rock and roll. I'm not positive, though. Remember when John Fogerty got sued for plagiarizing himself? That was nuts.
  19. Oh, duh. Leslie West, and the band is Mountain.
  20. "Aqualung" riff - Jethro Tull "Oh! Darling" vocal - The Beatles "The Song Remains The Same" everything - Led Zeppelin "Just What I Needed" beat switch - The Cars "Carry On" guitar - Crosby, Stills And Nash "Watching The Detectives" drums - Elvis Costello
  21. Wouldn't it teach her a lot more if he actually gave a chunk of his blood-money to the victims? All these people think they're helping by telling us non-richies to give money. I don't get it... And that's why you don't teach lessons. (Hopefully Peaches will get that.)
