  1. You know what they say Aisha...."great minds", etc., etc.
  2. Ever hear Harry Nillson's version? They used it in "You've Got Mail".
  3. I lied. No one ever called me Speedo.
  4. They often call me Speedo but my real name is..........Joe.
  5. Latest one was Boz Scaggs, about a month ago. He's still great. Don't care to hear him sing "standards" though. Why are so many artists reverting to this? Because of the success of Rod Stewart? To lend a mature credibility to their careers? Whatever it is, I don't like it. But Boz's other stuff? Outstanding!
  6. I've only heard their song "Heaven", MC...but I like it a lot. As for Santana....bravo!
  7. Are you still on the anatomy thing? LOL
  8. I think the stars mean that you're a babe. I've assumed that the stars mean that I'm a stud muffin. What else could they mean?
  9. Wow...look at me. I must say I enjoyed myself tremendously just "floundering" around here on the boards. Now, I'm a full-fledged lobster. I hope it's as much fun. Just don't get me steamed.
  10. Let's not forget Bonzo Dog Band's "Intro/Outro". It's simply the best, bar none. LOL..."J Arthur Rank on gong."
  11. Well sure, flaunt it. But, detach it ?
  12. I believe Taylor had one thing that those other gals you mentioned did not...and it seems to have held her back. Talent.
  13. The Ballad of New Orleans...Johnny Horton Sink The Bismark....same North To Alaska...same Horton made a living on historically correct songs until his untimely death in a car wreck. Now, who's gonna start a thread on anatomically correct songs?
  14. No Dave...you're not alone. Ive been a fan since the early 70's. Brilliant work. I almost hurt my vocal chords trying to sing the Caiaphas part. Ever hear the original cast recording of Joseph And The Amazing Tecnicolor Dreamcoat? Give it a listen if you can find it. I think you'll like it. The original...not that Donny Osmond thing.
  15. Did anyone mention The Partridge Family? LOL
  16. How about a couple great "dream" songs? Dreaming Isn't Good For You (Unless You Do The Things It Tells You To) 3 Dog Night No Reason For Your Dreams...Don McLean...a beautiful song.
  17. Geez, well...no, sorry. I refuse to analyze that one. But Dave...soooooooooooooo sorry. LOL...JK Gotcha!
  18. Jane, I agree about Groundhog Day. I've probably seen it at least 20 times....not always in its entirety but bits and pieces. I just can't resist watching it whenever I come across it on TV. Back when I first saw It's A mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World I thought it was the funniest thing ever made. I find it less funny now but at the time it was number 1. Other faves: Blazing Saddles Animal House Fish Called Wanda Throw Momma From The Train High Anxiety Any Monty Python flick Christmas Vacation Ghostbusters What About Bob The Hope/Crosby Road flicks The Nutty Professor (Jerry Lewis) Airplane...just to name a few
  19. Here's a little trivia re: Duel. It was a "made for TV" movie taken from a Roal Dahl short story in Playboy magazine. It starred Dennis Weaver who had played Chester on Gunsmoke for several years. What a start for Spielberg, huh? Just a little fiction and fact from Uncle's Almanac.
  20. I've always loved the scene in The Godfather where Michael finally gives in and allows Kay one question about his "business". Then he proceeds to lie to her so piously. He reminded me of my dear late brother Vince in that scene. Vince was always able to get over on his wife with no pangs of conscience whatsoever. Ahhh Vince...miss you so much!.
