  1. Yeah, Horizons has grown on me. I just don't like hearing the start of a Bach suite ending in something else. It startles my ears every time. But yeah, it is some great classical guitar work.
  2. Strange Days The Doors 1 Strange Days (3:09) 2 You're Lost Little Girl (3:05) 3 Love Me Two Times (3:17) 4 Unhappy Girl (2:00) 5 Horse Latitudes (1:35) 6 Moonlight Drive (3:03) 7 People Are Strange (2:12) 8 My Eyes Have Seen You (2:30) 9 I Can't See Your Face In My Mind (3:26) 10 When The Music's Over (10:56) I don't like The Doors a huge amount, but I do really like Strange Days. Something about it's weirdness just makes me like it. Anyways, lots of great songs, a well rounded album.
  3. I particularly like Fallacy #5. I know too many people who think it's still rebellious to be a 'punk'.
  4. Haha I'm a band/strings geek...three classes at school this year. My strings teacher has perfect pitch, and it's pretty cool. When it's time to tune, if theres no piano around we can just ask her for an 'A'.
  5. Days Of Future Passed The Moody Blues 1967 1. The day begins (5:49) 2. Dawn: Dawn is a feeling (3:49) 3. Morning: another Morning (3:40) 4. Lunch break: peak hour (5:16) 5. Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?) (8:48) 6. Evening: the sun set: twilight time (6:14) 7. Night: nights in white satin (7:38) Days Of Future Passed is, like it or not, of historical importance. It was one of the first albums to use a mellotron and had a the London Festival Orchestra playing on it. It was originally meant to be a recording of a Dvorak symphony with the Moody Blues. Luckily for rock music's development and our delicate ears, this idea was scrapped. Instead, The Moody Blues and the London Festival Orchestra recorded the band's songs with orchestral backing in an early concept album. My main complaint regarding this album is the integration of the orchestra. I find that the arragement for it is over the top at best and is used mainly as filler between songs. I will not, however complain about the flute on the album, especially on the last track, Nights In White Satin. It is, in my opinion, one of the greatest rock songs ever. Justin Hayward's voice is absolutely heavenly and the song is beautifully written. Again, though, I find that the orchestral arrangement is a bit over the top, and the poetry at the end is great, but I would have preferred the album to end on vocals or perhaps on the flute part. I feel that all the songs on this album were very well written, and the backing works well in places, but all in all detracts from the album. Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?)- also called Tuesday Afternoon- and Nights In White Satin are the highlights of Days Of Future Passed, and are truly masterful pieces of music.
  6. If anyone wants to hear them, here is a link to their page on progarchives.com. You can listen to "Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt" with that gray mp3 box on the page.
  7. Yeah, I think I was one of about 30 people in my grade at school not to have facebook. It's not really my sort of thing.
  8. But it's good though...I'd Sweet Home Alabama deserves the title more.
  9. I saw 2/3 of it on youtube... it made me laugh extra hard when Bart was writing on the board "I will not illegally download this movie". The part I saw was alright, about at the quality of the more recent TV episodes, which I think have kinda gone downhill.
  10. Yeah. They're definetly not easy listening anyways, and they're too loud for that comtemplative sort of mood when I would usually listen to prog rock.
  11. Yeah, that was a very good description Batman. They have a wide range of influences from prog to punk I'd say. Lots of spanish sounds and lots of extended jams. Yes, they are certainly over the top, but that's part of prog rock (just look at Karn Evil 9 or Supper's Ready). Anyways, they're one of the few recent progressive bands I've heard and liked. In fact, they're one of the few recent bands in general that I've heard and liked.
  12. Steve Howe playing/singing part of Gates Of Delirium He may not have Jon Anderson's voice, but this is absolutely beautiful playing.
  13. wow...kinda weird having Roger Waters and Billy Joel there and not having them playing bass or sing respectively...
  14. Dos cervezas, por favor. I know the important stuff. helados
  15. Yeah, most people (teachers especially)are so focused on the fact that teenage boys are reckless hormone-heads that they don't notice that girls have the potential to be even worse.
  16. yeah I agree completely about Steve Hackett... Steve Howe too is pretty good.
  17. I just got facebook a few days ago and have yet to put a picture on, but I joined the group.
  18. I don't listen to radio cuz all the stations in Vancouver suck.
  19. No, I never hated Ringo. None of The Beatles have ever done anything worthy of becoming my least favourite...UNTIL NOW.
  20. I just bought De- Loused today and I'm really enjoying it.
