  1. yeah that's not far from me. it would be a 1.5 hour drive I think, if not for the border. last time I had to drive across we waited for 4 hours
  2. Since she's the one doing the laundry, I wouldn't think that would be a great idea.

The Court Of The Crimson King Aside from being an amazing album, "In The Court Of The Crimson King" paved the way for the progressive rock movement of the early seventies. It's lush, symphonic orchestration would be echoed in many of the great albums of that era. Though the idea of creating an album that flowed well and showed clear direction had been around for while, the contrast seen in KC's debut, between the heavy, driving "21st Century Schizoid Man" and the inner songs' more comtemplative atmosphere, demonstrated a skill that would flourish in the coming years. Most importantly, however, "In The Court" displays songwriting that was innovative for the time. The songs do not follow a set structures (verse-chorus), and many have multiple parts, another trend that would take off in the early '70s with the side-long "epics" of Jethro Tull, Yes, Genesis and others. 21st Century Schizoid Man- The opening of the album. Doesn't that first line just feel powerful? Also note the unconventional (at least for rock) rhythms (after all, this was innovation through fusion if nothing else. Taking the best of a few genres was another thing that made this album important). Epitaph Influence aside, this is just one most beautiful things ever recorded. Listen to the emotion in Greg Lake's (later of ELP) voice and Peter Sinfield's lyrics.
  4. That happened to me a few months ago. I haven't had a drink since. I probably will, but I was scared for quite a while.
  5. They said that they're 0% certain... that I'm a woman?!?! just because I know that clams are alive...
  6. wait I didn't say that very well what I meant was the way the story's told is funny but the story is kinda sad
  7. man I gotta visit the creative writing forum more often the song's hilarious
  8. I like the way that someone before me has felt what I'm feeling, and expressed what I'm having trouble expressing.
  9. man I just listened to it and I cried my eyes out. not only did Rick Wright just die, but that song always makes me remember some things.
  10. The moral here: avoid Aerosmith at all costs.
  11. And how could I forget "Summer '68", probably the best thing he wrote.
  12. Speed Kills- Michael Angelo LMAO what a loser! this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen whenever I'm having a bad day, feeling down, I can always count on being able to laugh at Michael Angelo solos practicing 8 hours a day STILL won't give you good taste
  13. "In The Land Of Grey And Pink" is excellent. I also really like "If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You". Gotta enjoy as much Caravan as I can while the weather's still warm.
  14. A real loss. He was certainly a creative force in Pink Floyd, particularly in their earlier recordings, giving them their characteristic space rock sound. My favourite contributions of his would probably be on "On The Run", "Great Gig In The Sky" and "Careful With That Axe Eugene". I'll make sure to listen to my Pink Floyd albums tonight.
  15. Nope, SEBTP is definetly not better. It has it's moments ("Dancing With The Moonlit Knight" [possibly my favourite Genesis song], "Firth of Fifth" and "The Cinema Show") but it is very inconsistent. I find "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)" pretty goofy, and "The Battle Of Epping Forest" really drags on- the concept in "Get 'Em Out By Friday" on Foxtrot works much better in my opinion. Maybe I'll do a full review later. I haven't done a critical review here yet.
  16. nah it's ok Peaches I can always recognize you since your avatars are always moving, and most often dancing
  17. Definetly. I get really confused when people change their avatars. :beady: but then again, I guess that means that I look like a car.
  18. oh yeah it seemed kind of unrelated
  19. I like it and the video is interesting
  20. The 7th inning stretch used to be fun they would play/sing "take me out to the ballgame" but in the last few years they've started playing God Bless America
  21. yeah they probably are but when I was there the dollars were at par and so everything in the states was cheaper and not having tax on stuff was great
  22. Vancouver, BC, Canada There's probably one outside of Vancouver. but that one in Portland was just the coolest food store I'd ever been in. and Portland as a city was nice too. I just had the misfortune of going there with school orchestra, so I was pretty bored.
