  1. yeah I guess Ian Anderson took the name from him Anderson was probably a fan, Tull did a lot of bluesy stuff early in their career
  2. wow that's cool Little Milton is fictional character Gerald Bostock's nickname in the liner notes (newspaper) for Thick As A Brick. I had never heard of the real Little Milton. Ian Anderson must have done it on purpose, but I didn't know before this. It's really cool all the random stuff he manages to put in there, you have to read the newspaper many times before you get it all.
  3. The Gangs of New York- It was pretty well made, and the acting was good, but I found it pretty boring because I really didn't care which gang won. I didn't sympathize with any of the characters because they were all ***holes.
  4. I have to say that when stoned I found Pineapple Express to be a bit too violent.
  5. ooooh I'll have to check that out
  6. just gotten up above 0 today, we've had snow for a couple weeks, we around 2 feet this has been very unusual for Vancouver. We sometimes get a bit of snow, but we haven't had this much in my life time.
  7. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Supertramp's pop stuff (Breakfast in America) but I love Crime of the Century.
  8. I don't have the Tull, but I have the other three. BSS was one of my first prog albums, it has some great songs. As always with ELP, though, inconsistent- I'm not too keen on Benny the Bouncer. Karn Evil 9 is pure, raw energy, and the second part (Emerson's solo) is amazing. Octopus is kickass. So perfectly orchestrated, all the parts go together well.
  9. turns out I hadn't read them all now I have and now there's this empty feeling inside me knowing that there isn't a new xkcd to read
  10. haha that's one of the best yet and I think I've read them all
  11. I'll assume it has something to do with a convenient excuse to take lots of paracetamol.
  12. Yeah, the best part of my night was walking home. I was singing Beatles songs (I always do when I'm drunk) and my friend was singing some classical stuff at the same time. We finally agreed on "White Christmas".
  13. I got Timmed on Friday, and learned a valuable lesson in doing so: No matter how Timmed you get, a boring party is still boring.
  14. I dunno about Bush, but I would have been ecstatic if some random guy had thrown a shoe at Stephen Harper. Bush made some bad choices in governing. Harper is just an a*shole.
  15. And You And I Golf Girl Supper’s Ready Firth of Fifth Knots Minstrel in the Gallery Bloody Well Right Rhayader Legend Of A Mind Tom Sawyer
  16. well yeah I could see someone who doesn't smoke pot not enjoying it, since so much of the movie was about stoner culture.
  17. you clearly weren't stoned enough
  18. Thanks Lee! I hadn't heard that before, it is a good cover.
  19. Thanks for reading it Edna! For anyone that would like a better idea of the sound I'm trying to describe, here's the studio version of Sea Song (the first track)
