I've only seen one of the nominated movies, so I am just going to guess: Best Picture: 12 Years a Slave Best Actor: Bruce Dern Best Actress: Judi Dench Best Supporting Actor: Barkhad Abdi Best Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong'o Best Director: Alfonso Cuaron Best Original Score: Saving Mr. Banks (Thomas Newman) Best Original Song: Let It Go (Frozen) (This one is my favorite)

I just saw it last week. I have always like the musical, so I was a little biased, but I did feel like they cast for star power, not for singing abilities. As much as I like Russell Crowe's acting, his singing didn't do the music justice. Not as bad as Richard Gere in "Chicago", though...he sounded like he was singing through his nose.

My daughter says that at the Spring concert at school they are singing Beatles songs. She asked me "Do I have to do a British accent when I sing them, 'cause I can't do one" She doesn't listen to boybands, but she does like "kid" music. Still, she sings along to "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, and as a baby she went to bed every night listening to classical music.

I watched "Django Unchained". I haven't seen every one of Tarantino's movies, but he seems to like violent revenge fantasies. As far as that goes, this one was entertaining. Jamie Foxx was OK, but it was Christoph Waltz who stole the show. 8/10
