    Give and Take

A funky Acid -jazz sounding group from Boston, I think. Great lyrics, and musical varieties . Excellent background stuff for parties. Try 'em you'll love 'em , or your money back (from fidelity fiend , of course). UB-40
  2. Culture Club Billy Idol Thompson Twins ABC Spandau Ballet Bronski Beat/ Frankie Goes to Hollywood
  3. "La Bamba" -Ritchie Valens "Leroy Brown" -- Jim Croce "Gimme Three Steps" --Skynard "Peggie Sue" --Buddy Holly All died or had members die in air accidents
  4. Phew ! Lucky it wasn't a lecture by Rush Limbaugh !
  5. "Live Is Life" -- Opus "Wind Him Up" -- Saga
  6. Dat's 'cause me 'n Tony clean up our messes real clean-like. No one sees, no one squeals ! Capiche ?
  7. "One Thing Leads to Another" -- The Fixx "Hold Me Now" -- Thompson Twins "All of My Heart " -- ABC "Smalltown Boy" -- Bronski Beat "Hearts" -- Marty Balin
  8. With Thompson, it may be a fraud of some kind --trying to duck creditors, old- girlfriends, his dealer, imaginary assassins, a nutty practical joke or something...do they have a confirmed body ?

  10. Sorry ! Thought this was about HP sauce commercials. Nevermind.
  11. Same here, that was around'74-'75, I think. I saw on Amazon that you can buy the whole original TV toons from the '60s for around 50+ bucks. Nearly 60 episodes, I thnk. I thought about it , then gave myself a good , then I thought , "Well, for some Saturday morning laughs, ..." . Damn ! Now... I don't know-- and my head hurts ! I saw those covers , too. Can't say for sure, but I think they were just trying to modern-up the boy. It didn't last long though and just ended up confusing kids, and sending comic book geeks into therapy, I guess. (Old geezer voice) I've looked through a few of them thar new-fangled comics and I don't think kids (if that's who they're still for) get as much bang out of their , what are they now...$2-3$, as we got for 35 cents. Hell, you can't even sign up to sell greeting cards door-to-door and win neat prizes like a 10-speed anymore !

This should be in the creative writing threads ... quite a ditty you got going on there ! Any music ?
  13. Sorry, man ! But without more info on what exactly this issue is, YOU might be the one being taken ! ::
  14. I would be suspicious and check it out carefully as Spiderman first appeared in Marvel's Amazing Stories. By opened --do you mean a mylar bag -- or that the cover never has been opened ? If it's the bag -- this has no value whatsoever, as the comic's condition is all a collector cares about. If so, go ahead and open it, then simply put it in a new one... :: The Amazing Stories issue was worth, last I heard of a few years ago, around $ 30,000.

  24. Indeed. It's like "From Hell", with Johnny Depp . Only Hollywood would insist on a love story formula in a Jack the Ripper picture!
