Same here, that was around'74-'75, I think. I saw on Amazon that you can buy the whole original TV toons from the '60s for around 50+ bucks. Nearly 60 episodes, I thnk. I thought about it , then gave myself a good , then I thought , "Well, for some Saturday morning laughs, ..." . Damn ! Now... I don't know-- and my head hurts !
I saw those covers , too. Can't say for sure, but I think they were just trying to modern-up the boy. It didn't last long though and just ended up confusing kids, and sending comic book geeks into therapy, I guess.
(Old geezer voice) I've looked through a few of them thar new-fangled comics and I don't think kids (if that's who they're still for) get as much bang out of their , what are they now...$2-3$, as we got for 35 cents. Hell, you can't even sign up to sell greeting cards door-to-door and win neat prizes like a 10-speed anymore !
