  1. The name should be "The Music Hall of Fame"
  2. I like the Police. Like with most of the artists I listed, their best stuff is what you never hear on the radio. You know those Miranda Rights pretty well....hhhmmmm. Mr. Ownsdega.
  3. Is that the one where Michael Caine is a giant?
  4. Unc, it would have been funny if you posted this 3 or 4 times in a row.
  5. You're confused. That's Liza. Morrison would be in jail for something. Who knows what. Pearl would be living on a farm, far, far away, getting a well deserved rest. Elvis would be doing Vegas with Wayne and Englebert. I'd pay to see it. Jimi would be touring.
  6. Yes, it is Carl. I omitted it on purpose. It ranks in my top ten worst songs that were wildly popular.
  7. This, like all the lists in this forum, are subjective to one's musical tastes. The best? My favorites? Most influential? It's all about what whets your musical palate, I suppose. I'll weigh in with my picks for the best bands of all time. Some may not be considered rock, but hey, that doesn't mean they weren't good. The guidelines I'll use are a broad scope. Were they interesting musically? Did they influence the next generation of musicians in some way? Was it quality work for a sustained period of time? Or was it something as simple as they just made me tap my foot? Well, in any regard, here goes. In no order, of course. The Who Stevie Ray Vaughan The Police Van Halen Aerosmith (not the crap from 1988 to today) Fleetwood Mac Pink Floyd Lynyrd Skynyrd The Stones The Beatles Queen So, that's 11. So sue me. These are all groups that did quality work for over a decade. (well, if you count the Beatle's solo careers) Some were more accomplished, musically, than others. Some were more creative than others. But overall, I like my list.
  8. Actually, Billy Squier's one album is pretty good. I think it's called "Don't Say No". There's a few pretty good cuts on it. Lonely is the Night In the Dark My Kinda Lover Everything else he did was crap, IMO.
  9. I have no idea. But I know I'm glad I didn't see it.
  10. Smart enough to not pay the pizza guy with pot, I suppose.
  11. Spent all his money on dope. Got the munchies. Ordered pizza, tried to pay for it in a different kind of green. And who says pot make you a slow thinker?
  12. It's interesting how the tadpoles either need a song title or artist, or they go right to this thread. Welcome to Songfacts, elliott. Hope you hang around.
  13. This from a guy who can't decide what his name is. Chris, Ron, Dave, and now Roger.
  14. Come closer to the glass, Clarise.... TP, I sure am glad you're back. ::
  15. I remember watching his TV show when I was a kid. My mom loved him. Had his albums. I remember doing "The Ressurection Shuffle" Anyone know it? I hunted for it, but I can't find it. I also remember he had a feud going with Elvis there for a while.
  16. Jaws The Godfather The Outlaw Josie Wales Vacation Arthur I always stop on these.
  17. Will you please stop that! You made me almost spit out my coffee.
  18. I learn something new in here every day. By the way, i'm going tuna fishing a week from tomorrow

Doesn't matter to me one way or another. Wow. That's two songs. "It Don't matter to Me" by Bread, and "One way or Another" by Blondie. Songfacts has assumed control.
  20. I had this one when I was about 15 or so. Too bad KISS doesn't get any respect around here. I also had this one.
  21. I think a compelling reason would be "I don't want to be an underline"

    RIP Rodney

I'm very fortunate to have seen Rodney live at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware, back in 86 or 87. Maybe even 88, I forget now. He was one of a kind, that's for sure. He let people heckle, then handed them their a$$. "Hey Whitey, where's your hat?" Some of you may remember the "Tastes great, less filling" commercials from way back. "All we need is one more pin, Rodney!" Yup, he was a good one. See ya, Rodney.
  23. Imaginary Lover ~ Atlanta Rhythm Section Could be taken that way. Or it could be about , shall we say, self gratification. Jessie's Girl ~ Rick Springfield
