  1. No problem. Don't be a stranger. Hunt through the forums. Lots of lunacy in here.
  2. I saw parts of it. I think Joe Walsh is one of those underrated guitarists. Plus, he's a funny guy.
  3. I thought 'Promises' was a men's group? I hope she gets her act together. I battled for a long time, so I know what it's like.
  4. I could have written this myself.
  5. Yes, but bands eveolve, and they may lose a certain percentage of their core of fans, but they also gain new ones. a perfect example of this is Aerosmith. I was with them in the 70's and the early 80's. Then, they changed. I can't stand anything they've done since 87 or so, but they still sell records. New sound, new generation, new fans.
  6. I always thought there should be a few more bars to Boston's 'Hitch a Ride' solo.

    List #10

    RUMOURS! Oh wait....never mind.
  8. That's it, pick on the old guy. I'll see what I can do about getting some recent pics of my kids.
  9. Nah, I said something confrontational, thought better of it, and deleted it.
  10. Well, I know for sure it's not the one with Chrissie Hynde. How can I put a link up here for others to listen to it?
  11. Hi Janet, and welcome back. The song you're referring to might be Led Zepplin's "Going to California" Spent my days with a woman unkind, Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine. Made up my mind to make a new start, Going To California with an aching in my heart. Someone told me there's a girl out there With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. Took my chances on a big jet plane, Never let them tell you that they're all the same. The sea was red and the sky was grey, Wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today. The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake As the children of the sun began to awake. Seems that the wrath of the Gods Got a punch on the nose and it started to flow; I think I might be sinking. Throw me a line if I reach it in time I'll meet you up there where the path Runs straight and high. To find a queen without a king; They say she plays guitar and cries and sings. La la la la Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born. Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams, Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems. hope that helps. jr.
  12. This is why I love this site. I always learn something.
  13. Double Live Gonzo is a great cd. It is Ted in his prime. If you listen to 'Stormtroopin', he plays an entire part of the solo without ever using his pick hand. Just bending the string (one string) to get different notes, and sliding up and down the frets. A truly inventive solo. As far as this guy who thinks the "only reason Hendrix is considered the best is because he was the first good guitarist", you can't really come down on the guy because he is obviously ignorant when it comes to music, just like that other buffoon earlier in this thread. They've not had the pleasure of exploring music, so they are pigeon-holed into believing what they listen to is the best. And to them, maybe it is. I am willing to bet theses two guys are fairly young. They haven't looked around, or 'listened around'. Expanded their musical horizons. we are fortunate in the fact that the younger population here at SF are diverse in their musical tastes. Just as one example, ChrisWaters90125 appreciates Dave Gilmour's work, and recognizes it as the creative, beautiful work it is. I doubt these two 'speed is everything' guys even know who Dave Gilmour is. But is that their fault? No, they haven't looked around. I don't fault these two speed demons for their limited knowledge. I do, however, have a problem coming into our back yard and taking a dump, leaving their offal. Speed=Greatness. We covered that. Metallica is gay. Since when does being gay have anything to do with anything? Gentlemen, grow up. Or get out of our forum.
  14. Jimi Hendrix was the first good guitar player? Add another person to the 'don't know anything' list.

  17. I have that cd. He does a wonderful, thought provoking reading of a poem called 'The Box' about the horrors of war.
